Are most things free to stream with that service? Movies, TV shows, etc?

I have Prime for shipping costs and Pantry, but never used the streaming service. I'm about to dive into it and check it out. Are there a lot of free movies or do you have to rent/buy everything?

TIA

Yes there are a lot of free TV/Movies on there, it's mostly older stuff compared to Netflix. I have a fire stick and it makes watching very easy.

Lot of movies and TV shows to stream. All HBO shows available and a pretty decent collection of movies. It is rare for me to not find something on Prime that I can enjoy.

Awesome. Thanks guys.

Think I'm going to buy a Fire Stick. Another benefit with that is I could switch the SlingTV one day which might happen.

Do you think the new HBO Stand-Alone service will be available on it when its released?

Not nearly the selection of content included with the subscription as Netflix, but they try to lure you with their own original content, which is expanding. Also, hard to beat the free shipping that comes with it. It comes out to the same price as Netflix per year and actually saves you money on shipping.

A lot of older stuff is free. Selection of free new stuff is a bit limited. I love it though. There are a lot of shows I never watched that I have caught up with on Prime. For example I'm about to finish The Wire which I was able to watch completely free on Prime. I don't think it was available on Netflix.

Then your "headline movie" selection will be almost identical. They seem to have a lot of the same "top tier" movie deals. TV show availability is where they really differ. Amazon has some of HBO's older shows, and they have exclusive access to back seasons a few current shows like The Americans, Vikings, Orphan Black and Downton Abbey.

It'd be hard for me to recommend Amazon over NetFlix based just on their libraries, but I do find myself watching Amazon more than I used to.

Well I use Netflix a lot and have Prime for other reasons. So I'm not paying more than I already am, just curious about what I've been missing.

I did just order a fire stick for $40 because I love the idea of streaming spotify on my main TV's sound system.
