I think it's probably the most well put together case for legalization I've seen. I had heard many of the facts and statistics before, but never like that. It's a very well made film as well, very entertaining while being incredibly informative and straight forward.

The Fog of War is pretty awesome. Restrepo is also very good.

just finished this. pretty damn solid. Billy Mitchell was one hell of a douche bag. I was hoping Steve would beat his score

KoK is talked about a lot on here. It's a really great doc, but a bit misleading. Some random other dude actually held the DK record during the doc, so it's weird that they pitted it as "everyman Steve vs. Billy Mitchel and his goons" when some other dude actually had the record. But taken on teh surface, KoK is a veery awesome documentary.

I finished Restrepo a couple days ago, and it was actually just meh for me. It was kinda cool, and parts were kinda interesting, but overall I guess I was maybe expecting something different, who knows. But it wasn't that great for me.

I think The Rape of Eurpoa is the next one I'm gonna check out.

Yes! I highly recommend this.
I HATED this documentary and I don't understand how anyone could like it.

That and Man on Wire were both terrible to me, but people seem to love them.

Maybe "meh" is a bit much. I did like it, I just went into it expecting something different I think. And what's weird is that I'm not even sure what I was expecting. I'm sure the more I think about/reflect on it, the more I'll like it. But when I was done with it, I kinda felt like I was disappointed in it a bit.

See, that's one that I've had for a while now, but I can't seem to ever bring myself to watch it. Frankly, it just looks boring to me (but I had heard good things, which is why I bought it).

yea that could be the case. I'm really fascinated by war docs and understanding what the day to day life is like

yea the premise looked boring, but EVERYONE and their mom said it was so great. I was bored out of my mind and annoyed

if you want to watch some crazy shite, watch "witness to jonestown." i've never seen anything close regarding cults

i'm with cokes on man on a wire. it's been on my radar for a long time but i never really want to watch it. i always find something else that i find myself more interested in watching. people rave about it, though

i liked IOUSA. it's slanted, but that doesn't mean they're wrong. and like coke pointed out, it's gotten a lot worse since they made it. some of their projections are scary as shite

The Best Worst Movie is about Troll 2. pretty solid and really amusing in some parts

Exit Through the Gift Shop is good. a lot of the first 1/3 is boring, but the last 1/3 is really awesome. an indictment of the contemporary art culture. the scene of people discussing the show at the end is amazing

Waiting for Superman and the Lottery are good docs about education

Bigger, Stronger, Faster is good. about steroids and how they're not really a big deal. the interviews with the people who fight to ban steroids are daily show-esque. you just can't believe it's a real interview

This Film is Not Yet Rated. about the MPAA and how bullshite the whole movie ratings system is

Dogtown and Z Boys. a combination of coming of age movie and a group who basically remixed and pioneered skateboarding. it's a great examination of how being a pioneer requires lucky timing and luck in your area of focus

I'm about to watch the trailer for that. Have you ever seen Jesus Camp? It's very "cult-ish" and scary as frick, to be honest.

This is another one that I've had for a while but haven't watched yet. May try to put it on once I finish the Rape of Europa.

This is one I've heard about and definitely want to see. May pick it up if I can get it on the cheap.

like half of it. it didn't have the same impact on me b/c we had a lot of those types at barbe. they tried to convert me for 4 years. i can't always take stories about these camps seriously just b/c i saw how energized and warped the people were when they came back, ONLY to become total pieces of shite again. then they'd feel guilty, go back to their jesus camps, adn feel cleansed

B/S/F isn't an amazing statement, but it does a good job of discussing many sides to steroids. it's one of those docs in the michael moore style where the director interjects himself into the movie, but he's pretty sympathetic and likeable, so it works

it's kind of like B/S/F. nothing amazing, but a good peek into a secret society, basically
