Because it makes too much damn sense.
Spielberg has said Ford is the only actor that will ever play Indy.
If they are going to get him to strap on the boots again, then make a story worth telling. Thats all I ask.
I don't hate the Shia casting, really. I'm not in the Shia sucks crowd, and he was the least of the issues with KotCS. Last Crusade would've been a great movie even if it wasn't an Indy movie. Do that.

Depressing true story...
I was amidst a group of teenagers when they were discussing movies. Someone mentioned Indiana Jones and they then proceeded to talk about how they liked Shia Lebouf but thought the movie was bad and the Indiana Jones character was silly.
I told them that the Crystal Skull was a disappointment compared to the original three Indiana Jones movies. None of them had seen the original three movies. Their entire perception of Indiana Jones is from Crystal Skull. And I'm sure they aren't the only ones.
I hate it when Hollywood butchers a franchise.

I almost feel blessed. My parents introduced us to those movies when we were in lower school. I'm now 28. I have no idea how the hell I would think about Indiana Jones if the first movie I saw was Crystal Skull.
