If any of you are watching the post show "Ready Room" hosted by Will Wheaten, next weeks episode is titled "Dominion" and there will be a new character that Will said would be a "massive spoiler" if revealed.

It'd be an issue if it was jarring or out of place, but so far all the nostalgia reveals have been folded into the story well.
I think they have done a very good job of bringing back familiar faces within the context of the story. They are not bringing in people just to bring them in. It all works, and works well, within the story.
The way they have brought back Data/Lal/B4/Soong/Lore is particularly good IMO. By combining the different personalities they have created a more human-like personality, complex but complete; from good to bad, and everything in between. All of that in a synthetic human aged body. It was a sharp way to bring him back and explain the aging.

A lot of us either stopped watching during season 1/2, or just couldn’t watch it. It seemed like the writers wanted to shite all over everything we loved about TNG/DS9(what little play it has in Picard)/Voyager. It felt like they had a political agenda, and rammed it down your throat. For God’s sake they apparently went back in time to our present day and dealt with the Border issue. Seriously, what the frick? I am not sure but it seems like they have new writers or told the other ones to get their heads out of their asses because this season is nothing like the drivel I saw of the 1st season. They killed off old characters for no reason, which is fricked up. It didn’t add to the story.
I will end up buying this season on Blu-ray and pretending the other two seasons never existed. This season is what most of us hoped we’d get with Picard, but didn’t until now. I hate that it is going to end. I hope they continue with a Shaw/7 show, which would work well IMO.

I think people should watch season one and 2. One is tough to get through but it deals with Picard's "death"..
Season 2 wasn't perfect but John DeLanice as Q may it likeable.
Also, "Laris" is a pretty hot Romulan Mature lady as a love interest of Picard.
It's also good to get Raffi's back story..in short her life's a mess but she's a bad arse

Ok, it would be difficult to deal with the changlings without looping in Odo I know René Auberjonois died, but his son, Remy Auberjonois, looks just like his dad. He is an actor, and would be able to play Odo IMO.

The short answer is Picard was dying from Irumodic Syndrome that he was diagnosed with way back in TNG. His mind was transferred into an android body.
A big part of the S1 storyline is Android technology has become so advance that they are life like and the Federation had invoked a ban on their creation because a batch went out of control and destroyed Utopia Planetia.
Dr. Soong's son, Altan was secretly making a society of them and that's how Picard survived.

The Dominion have always had superior transporter tech. They can beam through Federation shield with ease. Given the new update to their tech they can pretty much transport anywhere.

EP 7: Dominion was a good episode, but not quite as powerful as the rest of the season. It was a "filler" episode that was needed to fill in some of the questions and leave us with more puzzles.
Seeing Tuvok was a nice cameo. Doing the Changeling move at the very end was a good plot twist.
Brent Spiner's acting was amazing. He hasn't lost a step and his ability to shift back and forth from Data to Lore so seamlessly show's how very talented he is.
It's going to be interesting to see what Jack's secret it. When he took over Sidney's body in the fight was a clever reveal to his abilities.

I know I harp on the comparisons between this season and the others basically every week now, but this is something else this season has done way better than the others.
They’ve absolutely nailed the cameos or outright returns of so many characters. Sure de Lancie as a single actor played his role well but it fell like the previous seasons completely neutered the Q and the Borg as whole species while having dud returns of characters like Hugh, Icheb, and Guinan.
The returns and cameos of this season have had way more impact.
Also, there’s been way too much talk of Janeway for her not to return, right?

Not having Janeway appear after all this buildup and actually placing her within the story now would just be crazy.
