-Cheesy lines like "hammer down" when shooting at another plane

-Random stutter added to a supporting character.

-Focusing on a very odd love triangle where a guy breaks unwritten rules by getting with the girlfriend of his best friend

-Cuba Gooding, Jr....

-Movie ends with woman's original love becomes the not-dad dad to his dead best friend's, who originally broke unwritten rules by getting with this girl, child. I mean, will that child call Ben Affleck "Dad"?

wtf?

The actual battle scenes are alright.

Just watch it to get a feel for the attack
Ignore Affleck and Hartnett and the bad acting.

That isn't an unwritten rule fwiw, it actually happens somewhat consistently when people grieving get together.

A good drinking game is taking a shot every time a character says some form of "My God" or "Oh my God" during an action scene. Whoever wrote the script put in some damn awful lines.

"Crack shooting Danny! Crack shooting Rafe!"

I'm still trying to figure out how those planes flew in-between buildings without blowing out the windows

They do make a good point, the bombing scene is worth watching.

Even though a lot of factual liberties were taken, the Doolittle Raid at the end of the movie is the only decent part.

Pearl Harbor's #1 problem is that the script is a piece a shite, which I'm not sure why Bay always gets the blame for since he didn't write the damn thing. Otherwise, it's a competently made film - well shot, great set, costume, and sound design, decently paced for a 3-hour plus film, and great action sequences. Affleck is really the only bad actor in the movie. Harnett, Beckinsale, Gooding Jr., and Alec Baldwin were all decent.

It really could have been a solid movie if the dialogue wasn't utter trash and it wasn't trying to blatantly capitalize off of Titanic's success.
