Peacock now on Roku, my initial impressions..

Loaded the Peacock app with no prob on my Roku and signed in with the free option. It has average of 5 minutes commercials each hour per Peacock spokesman and was quite reasonable to me after watching an hour of archived SNL episode featuring Christopher Walkens best moments over the years. Peacock claims the 5 min per hour is industry lowest for free streaming services.
Movies: A good library of top hits, classics, old horror classics, Hitchcock, etc. Phantom Thread is free for example.
Premium tiers: For $5/mo you get double the content but ads stay. For $10/mo. full content with no ads.
Nutshell, at very least everyone should load and enjoy the free version.
As for HBO Max, the chatter from reporters/writers at various sites is that Roku and Max will have a deal before Thanksgiving. Peacock/Roku deal will be catalyst for Max in particular to get on the ball, they know that those who start subscribing to Peacock may not be so anxious to subscribe to them too.

Agreed. Love this app.

We have it through Cox Contour. We've been watching it mostly as it comes up as the streaming option when we search for episodes of old and current series.
Sometimes it'll ask if you'll watch a block of ads before the show so that you don't have any interruptions with other breaks.

I have Tubi and enjoy it. One thing I've noticed with Tubi, at least on my Roku TV, is that the streaming quality or bit rate is not as good as the Roku Channel with same content. For example I just finished Zulu on Roku Channel after first watching first 20 minutes on Tubi. When I discovered it was also on Roku Channel I tried it there and immediately noticed how much cleaner the image was across board...color, contrast. I'm kinda persnickity I guess, but like I said, I do enjoy it a lot and definitely watch content on Tubi.

I run mine through an Xbox 1X through a 1080, and some Xfinity thing (similar to a Roku) my girlfriend got on a 4K. Bedroom and living room, same shows & different rooms, etc. I haven't noticed a difference like that all, between Netflix, Tubi, Hulu, Prime, peacock. YouTube, Disney and Pluto. Now with that said, it would piss me off if I could.

I love this feature and wish it was available for every stream.
Good to hear Peacock is now on Roku.

Is Peacock where all the Premier League games are now? There's hardly any on the NBC Sports app.

I signed up for both for a month. Had a lot of issues getting videos to play on HBO Max yesterday and canceled.
What I love about Peacock is the selection of classic TV shows. 21 Seasons of Johnny Carson, The Rockford Files, Columbo, etc. They also seem to have a lot of good movies, though.

Do you have to have Peacock Premier, or can you get any EPL games on the free version?
Posted on 9/22/20 at 8:33 am to DanglingFury
I think you have to pay the $5 to get all the EPL games. Still ads, but its got a surprisingly good library. Now that Netflix has basically given up on movies, Peacock might have a better library of movies than Netflix. And it has AP Bio, which is funny as hell.

Watched first movie on Peacock last night, Bad Lieutenant. Before playing screen notice asked me nicely to watch three commercials before movie starts and then to enjoy the full movie with no further ads. I didn't have to request it, nice, hope all movies are like that.

This was not the case when I watched Monster's Ball on Peacock. That was maybe 2 weeks after the service launched, so maybe they changed things up since then.
