Where is your list of scary movies? If you are incapable of being scared by ANY movie then perhaps you have emotional issues.
I don't have one. I am not a "Scary movie" fan.
I only went to paranormal activity because of the hype about how scary it was and statements from college aged folks (if not older) that it was hard for them to go to sleep after.
This intrigued me. So I went see it.
Decent movie, worth the admission, but not scary.

Just thought your statement was stupid and still do.
If you can't find ANY horror movie scary then are you really one to judge a horror film?
By your original statement, anyone enjoying or being scared by a work of fiction , should seek immediate psychiatric help due to their slim grasp on sanity.
The fact that you can't be scared by anything is probably more cause for concern.

shite, I get scared.
I am not scared of anything on a PROJECTION OF LIGHT though.
But that is just me.

It actually is JUST you.
Once again making you a poor judge of a horror movie's ability to be scary.

Annnnd we are back to this.
Where did I say there was anything wrong with enjoying a work of fiction.
The condition of being scared is a result of thinking something bad is going to happen to you or someone you care about. It is usually a tangible effect. That is different from liking a story, or even being drawn into one.

So you consider not being afraid of a projector to be an uncommon trait? Awesome

That statement is absurd. Based on that statement they would have never come up with horror stories or horror movies.
Your statement is absurd. You essentially believe people have to be unhinged to be scared by fiction or by a movie.
That statement is absurd. Once again we would not have horror movies if nobody was scared by them and unless you feel the majority of the human race is unhinged then your argument holds NO water.
And yes, I like saying absurd.

If you haven't figured it our by now this thread contains...
SPOILERS
Also, I would have much rather seen the original ending or the alternate ending were she slits her throat.
Imo, the current wide release ending is to mainstream Hollywood and doesn't feel at all like the rest of the movie. The thanking of the police department at the beginning doesn't make since either with the current ending. Again, it just doesn't have the same "real" feeling the rest of the flick has when she "grudges" out on the camera. I think her slitting her throat would probably be the most impacting, honestly. Damn Hollywood.

duh. The police dept and the family were the ones who had possession of the video camera and tapes.

I agree 100% with that. I've read about the two other alternate endings, and I think that is the one that would resonate the most with people.
Also, frick the trailers for this movie, because they ruined it for me by showing Micah being thrown into the camera. Absolutely ruined it.
I didn't find this movie "scary" at all. It was kinda freaky, sure. But not scary in terms of a horror movie.
Two things that happened in the previews that pissed me off: them showing the covers being blown off of the chick, and them showing him getting slung into the camera. Both of those things were something I was waiting for every single time they showed the night footage.
Overall, I liked it, and thought it was a pretty good cheap freaky movie. But it woould have been infinitely better had I not seen the climax of the fricking movie in the goddam previews. Everyone I talk to who asks me about this movie, I tell them that if they want to see it to not watch the previews for it.

Same here. Especially the sheet blowing scene. Also, this scene happens much earlier in the original film, allegedly.
