Yes but because of the penalties each quarter. they’d rather give some concessions to get them to approve it, but my gut says Cali will demand CNN. Not sure how that’ll go
I agree.
Both sides are saying this is not about CNN. I think if cnn is the only thing the states actually care about, Paramount will eventually agree to sell it.
By the way, the Cali AG, Rob Bonta, was also on The Town about this case. If people like the box dude want to hear an actual hollywood business reporter talk to the two main representatives of this case, they should give it a listen.
Eta: accidentally left out a portion of a sentence.

Besides the fact that CNN is worthless.
Nah. It plays in airports all over the country.

In other news, this probably gives James Gunn another year or 2 to make his DCU worth watching.

I think they want Ellison to give up CNN
That's the unspoken goal. There is a segment of those in power who don't want CNN to become more moderate/balanced like CBS is slowly becoming after the Ellison takeover. Imagine the meltdown of Bari Weiss were over both CBS News and CNN.

Why would the states agree to move it up 8 or 9 months?
Or, why would this judge who's already set the delays agree to move the trial up so far in advance?
Not a lawyer, obviously. I legitimately have no idea as to the answers to my questions.

This is political. The states want to bleed Paramount dry and hurt Ellison. The workers at both companies are screwed either way. Better for the merger to go through quickly to cause less harm.
