@CDWritten

genuinely amazing how chris terrio has escaped *all* of this. i don't know how you go from writing BVS to a version of JL deemed "unwatchable" to then working on RISE OF SKYWALKER and we somehow only blame snyder/whedon/abrams

him working on the last skywalker film after BvS and JL is mindblowing

I still don’t get why this gets the attention that it does. The theme of B v S is that Bruce has lost his humanity.

This is the moment where he regains his humanity because he realizes he has become what made him into Batman.

Also, it’s Lois that stops him.

It was the execution I think more than anything.

Fair enough

I think this scene clearly displays what I think is Snyder’s greatest weakness which is focusing on the minor details and not the overall story.

The spear/lance he uses is one modified from Robin’s armory.

There are so many subtle references to Robin that gets lost in the story.

Robin’s motorcycle in Bruce’s workout area being one.

How much of Rise of Skywalker was actually Terrio’s doing though? That movie had so many different cuts and reshoots. Hell just the fact that he had to someone write a conclusion to that series after Rian Johnson menstruated all over it is not enviable.

Not defending him, but trashing him for that movie is short sighted. Beyond that, blame the studioheads who approved his scripts for filming usage. Then again, we know how much WB has meddled and it seems like the more the studio meddles (BvS, Squad, JL) the worse it turns out. When they get the frick out of the way, things work - WW, Shazam, Aquaman.

I'm ready for the trailer. Snyder movies have the best trailers of any current director

Good news. Snyder’s confirmed that he’s working on a trailer. Probably our best bet on getting something great out of this.

Considering that this news confirmed the "Snyder cut" doesn't exist and is more of a "Snyder vision", wouldn't the trailer just be scenes from the version we've all seen?

Eta: sorry, I should have said doesn't yet exist.

Tons of footage that wasn't included, so I doubt he'd waste the opportunity by using a majority of shown footage. He's already released a photo of the Ryan (Atom) Choi character. I wouldn't be surprised to see Henry Allen and Iris West in the trailer, and whoever else that ended up on the cutting room floor.

He shot 6 hours of material.

Also, from what he has shared on his Vero Account, there is plenty he hasn't shared.

Gotcha. I guess I'm just surprised he'd be promising a new trailer soon when he should need time to finish a bunch of the effects. If he got that $20+ million to finish effects, the money shots fans would like to see are probably nowhere close to being ready.

It looks like David Ayer might also get to release his cut of suicide squad.

I hope that Ayer gets to release his cut as well.

I would like to have seen more of Leto's Joker.

They gave Ayer a week to write the movie. Apparently he wanted a more ground taken on it all, focusing more on the low power characters and the studio was all in on enchantress and her brother being the main villains this go around rather than saving them for the sequel when more powerful members of the Squad would come into play.

Ayer's intent was to introduce Steppenwolf and the mother box in Suicide Squad.

Also, would have loved to seen this included in Suicide Squad. Snyder has said on Vero that Dick is the Robin who died in his universe and that Carrie Kelley follows Dick.

I would like to see it.

Watched Batman v. Superman - Ultimate Cut and while it still isn't a good movie, it was a more coherent presentation and you could see what he was trying to do.

That movie was rushed (i.e., there should have been another Superman movie and a stand alone Batman movie).

So...there was originally supposed to be 2 parts to his version of Justice League. Did he shoot all of the footage for both at one time, and is this Snyder cut supposed to be the entire thing? Or is this just his version of what Part 1 would have been?

Why is there a belief there was studio interference in BvS and Justice League?

I saw a poster reference the studio stepping in before in JL, his daughter committed suicide and he stepped away, no? Surely that resulted in a different movie, but not the traditional sense of a studio interfering.

Supposed to be 4.5 hours.

The plan is to slice it into 4 parts and present it as a series.

BvS was supposed to be two parts. First part was supposed to basically be a stand alone Batman movie, integrating the first part of BvS (battle of Metropolis/death of Zod) towards the end of part 1 to set up the second part.

Second part was more Supe centric and also served as set up for JL.

Studio shitcanned the idea because of cost and success of MCU. Made Snyder compress it to a single film.
