Here's another trailer: WWZ

This looks a lot better than I remember it being a couple months ago. Can't wait.

Max Brooks complete opposed "running zombies" but was overruled.

28 DAYS actually has living crazed humans, not zombies. A common mistake.

Zombies are fictional but there are rules. This ain't Nam!

Follow the rules or it isn't a real damn zombie.

ZOMBIELAND TV series being shot by Amazon Studios right now.

Look up the box office of zombie films. $75,000,000 domestic for Zombieland.

Wy spend $150,000,000 on WWZ?

Crazy.

Pity's last hit was what? OCEANS 12?

Dracula walked in the day. You had to pay attention while reading the book, but he did walk during the day. Depending on how long you have been a vampire, you can walk during the day. Usually you're not immune to daylight until a thousand years.

I know he wasn't a thousand years old, but because he kept his strength by carrying around the soil he was born from, he was able to do whatever he wanted.

Moneyball - 75 mil

I added in the lifetime gross for each movie. Outside of The Assassination of Jesse James all of those movies brought in a lot of money. You could also include Megamind which grossed 148 mil.

Link to the new trailer?

Both links on page one are down.

Throw me into the "pissed that it's not like the book" camp, mainly because I rarely read books but actually did read WWZ. But there are SO many awesome parts of the book that would've translated really well into film IMO.

I'll still see this one, because I like the genre. But I'll definitely be a little pissed if there's not a REALLY good explanation as to why we literally have tidal waves of zombies and they're just tossing giant buses out of the way like they're made of paper.

And I still have hope that Yonkers will be in there in some fashion.

Here's an AICN interview with the director Marc Forster. It doesn't make me feel any better about it frankly. He actually seems a little, I don't know, almost in defensive mode. Like he has a good feeling WWZ won't do well. Maybe that's just how I read it.

Oh and there's little or no blood in the movie. Say what?...

LINK

Here's the answers to the top two questions that I've seen asked:

quote:

Are they given some sort of superpowers? They seem to jump further, they run faster...

No, no, they don’t have any superpowers.

I meant more so than a regular human, the way they are able to jump and fall.

No, they just don’t know the difference of height and stuff. They just go because they don’t know the building is ending. They just keep moving, wherever they move, they just keep on moving. They just don’t know any boundaries.

So maybe not super, but more enhanced, like speed? I mean, those guys were running pretty fast and bouncing off things...

Yeah, when the feeding frenzy starts, they just run, but not faster than any human being.

and why the frick is Brad Pitts character so important?

quote:

Brad Pitt’s character was a U.N. employee and his expertise comes from working in a lot of global places which were in crises - Africa, Bosnia, and so forth. I think you guys saw where the captain gives him his resume, and he was able to basically always come out alive of these places with crises and was able to either identify the problem or the issues at these places. So at this point of the story, it is up to him to go on the quest to find patient zero, or find the root of the problem, and they feel like he is the right person to assist one of those scientists to find the root of it all.

he sounds like he has never given an interview before with responses like that.

Right! Like, "Oh, this shite again... No they don't have superpowers you count.."

How about you try to imagine why we would think that from the trailer and give a decent explanation?

If I watch youtube vids of the crowds during the running of the bulls in Spain, humans don't do the shite those zombies were doing in that trailer.
