I agree with everyone who says zombies are scary in large numbers, but I also thought Dawn of the Dead zombies were scary too.

What I don't like is what someone else said, cgi super zombies.

Yes, I agree, but in this case this is the exception because looking at the way those zombies are moving in this movie is frightening as hell if you're an ordinary human. You have no way of retreating or defending yourself. The days of standing in front the slow moving, pathetic looking poor zombie and playing pitty patt with it's forehead are gone.

you better run your arse off!!

I'm taking he meant it's scary as hell seeing them move that way climbing all over each other like a cluster of worms or caterpillars and moving everything out of it's path with numbers and strength. That's the way the CGI is making it look to me.

I like running zombies. They make it better imo.
But the reason I don't like running in this os because the book extremely clearly says zombies don't run.

Its just not world war z.

If they named it anything else and didn't connect it to the book I would be all over this movie

Running zombies is fine, but if they do that they really should have gone the 28 days later route. This CGI zombie crap looks terrible. The scene in the first trailer where they're climbing each other in front of the giant wall looks horrible. I'll pass on this one

I don't mind the 28 days later type zombie but not super human. I also don't know how I feel about a cure. In the book they just adapted and outlasted until they could actually fight back. I do trust Brad Pitt's judgement in scripts though.

I am sick of the "it's nothing like the book" people. We get it folks, you read a book, you can put your hand down now.

No way they could make it like the book. It wasn't a traditional story line that would be necessary for the movie they are presenting.

it's not scary b/c there would be no hope. it's too powerful of a villain, and certainly not zombies

you wouldn't be able to be scared in this system b/c it would be over too fast. real fear requires thoughts/anticipation

It is lower down on the first page.

It actually might be alright, but I don't really get the "fear" vibe from the trailer. I still have no idea why Pitt's character is so important.

From what I got from the trailer, it seems that there is some person who the zombies don't recognize or attack. He is hunched up in a ball when they are all running passed. He is also on the plane.

If that is the direction they are going, I'm not sure I like it.

I randomly came up on that pic and it made me laugh my arse off. Before I thought about the homophobic undertones I thought about the color of the water. Why is it yellow/greenish? Did someone pee in the water? Was coloring added by the photographer for contrast? Was one of them sweating out all the drugs from the night before? It is a mystery to me.

I agree. I'll give the movie a chance but I'm not sure why they couldn't go with the outlasting and adaption that was in the book.

The book makes it clear that zombies are slow. Their strength is the never stop...and they turn the people they kill into them.

This movie shares one thing with world war z. The name.

And we did read the book....if you weren't an aliterate hick you would too

This. There is actually a section where people were shitting themselves thinking they had running zombies when it was actually just a crowd of regular people.

Yea, there really is nothing remotely similar between the two it seems. A bit disappointing, especially if they go with the "one immune individual" I'm predicting.

I get they needed to manufacture a story line. The book was essentially a bunch of conversations. I could deal with a zombie upgrade like 28 days later. Maybe an Independence Day feel would have worked.

1. People get their asses handed to them
2. People hunker down
3. People learn how to fight them
4. People spread the word on how to do it.

I think the book would have worked more as a HBO miniseries. Each episode could cover a section or two, depending on the length of the chapters.
