Saw it last night, this movie had no buisness being as fun as it was. Great popcorn flick that those who grew up with the orginal will love. Also the orginal theme is in there and there is a mid credit scene.

Only problem I had was while all the people who played the Rangers were acting like this was a serious movie, Elizabeth Banks went full cheese with her version of Rita. Was kind of werid to watch.

It was fun. Laughed way more than I thought I would (in a good way). It really dragged in the middle though and got boring. Third and first acts are great.

The Megazord really sucks though. Overall, it was good for what it is and is definitely enjoyable. Hoping for a sequel.

I've seen a lot of the youtube reviews echo this same sentiment.

I haven't seen it yet but hopefully the sequel will keep the things that make this one really good and address the gaps.

I liked the movie a lot. All the rangers were good actors, especially the guy who played the blue ranger. I really didn't care for the final battle at the end of the film though. Not enough time fighting in the suits and too much time spent fighting in the zords. The megazord looks like crap and was only in the film for about 2 minutes.

The movie was decent. Trini being a lesbian must have been last minute, because there was too much flirting between Zack and her.

Also, why wasn't Zack black? Is it because they were afraid of the color code thingy? If anything Billy should have been gay to do a homage. Or they could have made Jason Black, and Tommmy White for the next movie.

Other than that, i saw that movie in Dolby, that was good. The Cameo with the original pink and green ranger was pretty funny.

The advertisement for Krispy Kreme was off the chart. One of the funninest moment of the film was was the "go go power ranger" song playing.

saw it, they didn't ram autism and LGBTQ in your face, they kind of were like "here it is, he's autistic, and she's a lesbian" and moved on from there

fun movie though

Did she ever say she was a lesbian? Could be bi, regardless felt bad for Zach for trying so hard and then having that bomb drop on him

These numbers are just from Thursday's opening:

Variety:

quote:

Lionsgate’s “Power Rangers” has launched with a solid $3.6 million at 2,700 North American locations from Thursday night previews.

Sony’s sci-fi thriller “Life” grossed $800,000 from 2,627 preview showings and Warner Bros.’ comedy “Chips’ pulled in $500,000.

The “Power Rangers” preview number nearly matched the $3.7 million that “Kong: Skull Island” took in two weeks ago on its way to a $61 million opening weekend.

BoxOfficeMojo:

quote:

While we can never be quite sure just how much a film is going to make based on Thursday previews, a $40+ million opening for Power Rangers is already looking like a foregone conclusion. Question is, considering that preview gross is just $100,000 behind what Kong: Skull Island brought in, is there a possibility it could actually challenge that film's $61 million debut? That seems unlikely, but it's worth the mention.

I went see the retarded Power Rangers last night with my kids. Figured it would be a good 2 hours of torture since i have never liked the Power Rangers at any point of my life.

That being said, pretty cool movie, and i'd watch it again, which i'm sure i will have to b/c my 5 year old absolutely loved it and once he gets the dvd he'll watch it everyday for 2-3 months.

My only complaint is i couldn't tell the two girls apart for anything. THey looked too similar. It was a fun movie though. I loved all the superhero/action movie references throughout the movie. "Yippie Kye Ay Mother...whoaaaa"

Rita was cheesy, but she was in the show. So, it's all good.

Otherwise, a solid movie. Very entertaining.

And I love the the Pink and Green ranger cameo

I was not expecting much but really liked it. Billy stole the show. If you have to include a gay, handle it like Power Rangers instead of the over the top Lafou. The black ranger actor was definitely my least favorite. Still hate the Zord looks as well as Goldar. Part 2 should be about the evil green ranger with the ending credits introducing Zedd.
