It was the most egregious of the issues...by no means the lone one.
Again, I loved the first 3. The hobbit sucked. I heard this one was better and I guess it was Attack of the Clones better. But I really think Jackson pulled a Lucas with these.

Please stop with the Lucas shite. Lucas never got close in the prequels to the good things Jackson has done with the Hobbit. Did any scene in the prequels come in the ballpark of Bilbo's interactions with Gollum and Smaug? Those were perfect scenes.

I love how they used so much from the appendices. The beginning when thorin and gandalf meet in the bar was great for the story.

The motion capture work beats the hell out of cgi. Add in Serkis and Cumberbatch and you get those great scenes.

One decent act out of a 2 hour and forty minute movie? Really? That's your standard.
I said, individual scenes were well done. But collectively they strung them together poorly. All the extra crap they added just made for a long not particuarly well done movie. And Elf having the hots for a dwarf? Really? Come on even my kid thought it was ridiculous...(unless she was looking for a place to rest her drink).
Who ever edited this mess should remove himself from the 3rd movie.
