Watched the documentary today. The thing that surprised me was that in the movie they made Johnsie out to be the reluctant follower that had to much of a heart for it. The documentary painted him as a big instigator and even said he was the one who beat up Mrs. Hatfield.

Yeah. And I'm pretty sure they said Cotton-top was one of the more violent members of the Hatfield clan. Which is the exact opposite of the way the mini series portrayed him.

Official history Channel Hatfield's & McCoy's mini series thread
Im sure there will be a Hollywood twist put on this classic American feud story but I'm still excited as hell about seeing the 3 night event. Anyone else plan on watching?

Looks good. Will watch.

Just to follow the theme of keeping everything in one thread, what should be HCs next mini series?

How about Lewis and Clark. Haven't seen many dramas made from that.

I would take any one of these if done correctly as the next history channel mini series.
Lewis & Clark mini series, battle of New Orleans mini series, Hernando Desoto (Arky fans should love this he introduced the razorback to America) mini series, the great buccaneer (don't call him a Pirate) Jean Lafitte mini series, Tristin DeLuna (Spanish explorer who landed on Pensacola beach in 1559!!!) the settlement was wiped out by a hurricane and they abandoned it after a few years.
