Pisses me off Civil War movies always have guys carrying revolvers, especially Southerners. Revolvers were a rarity.

They stole their accents, and the music from Justified, NTTWWT.

According to wikipedia

quote:

Pistols, which Southern cavalrymen generally preferred over sabers, were usually six-shot revolvers, in .36- or .44-caliber, from Colt or Remington. They were useful only in close fighting since they had little accuracy. It was common for cavalrymen to carry two revolvers, for extra firepower, and John Mosby's troopers often carried four each. I wonder how historically accurate this miniseries is. Hatfield vs McCoy started over a dispute over land. I don't remember that.

I don't know anything about the feud. Will have to read up on it.

For some reason I thought it took place in Missouri. Or was that the Johnson county war.

After my grandfather died, my grandma married a West Virginia McCoy...be curious to how far removed he is from these guys.
