I was a bit worried this would be similar to X-Files with obstructionist government people.

I really started loving the show when they abused my notion it would be similar in that vein.

I hope you don't mind spoilers. fringe has a VERY intricate plot line where almost everything matters and ties in together. so there will be a lot of talk tying in early episodes to later ones in the discussions. if your cool with spoilers though then by all mean join in

I don't think we've assigned them yet. after coke assigns us our homework I think we have a week to do it

Yeah, homework has been assigned. We were too close to the weekend to start this week so I think June 8th will start the discussion of the first 3 episodes.

Yeah first "assignment" will be Monday morning. So discussion will take place all that week I guess.

How do y'all want to do the discussion? We could do it two ways basically:
- episodes are assigned Monday and discussion on those episodes sort of trickles in all week as people watch them
...or...
- episodes are assigned Monday and discussion on them starts the following week while new episodes are going.

I think the first would be the best/most logical. Thoughts?

I honestly like this version best because it gives us 3 episodes at once to talk about, and not everyone will watch Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday etc.

Yeah I definitely wouldn't suggest first time watchers to participate unless they really don't care about spoilers.

With the way fringe does its episodes, most questions are answered pretty quickly, while there are some questions up in the air, I wouldn't really write off people first time watchers all that much

You say this but once we get into more than just episodic discussion someone could very easily drop major spoilers.

Once again, i would tell any new recruits to watch as fast as they can and join in on the fun at a later point.

The discussion will be centric around the 3 episodes of the week but I think it's pretty fair to say that we will often delve into how something in a s1 episode relates to something in a s3 episode, for example. If first time watchers are cool with that then by all means they should join.

I hate to be a douche but I don't want to have to watch what I say and have to try to be careful not to spoil anything for first timers. I'd rather us have freedom to discuss how something from season 1 or 2 connects to something important in later seasons. if those first timers don't care at all about seeing spoilers than they are all welcome
