If they vote Zach out and it's looking like they are, I don't even know if I wanna watch anymore. The house is filled with completely unlikeable people.

Entertaining tv, but he isn't the least bit likable.

alliances in this game seem to be largely irrelevant.

I really am sick with naming these stupid alliances. I haven't even tried to check the alliance breakdown recently, so I just did.
My head spun.

Zack is going to come out one of these days.
Also, Derrick is almost every one of those. How is no one picking up on his game?

Has this just occurred this season, or has this been a trend over the last couple of seasons? I kind of quit watching BB the last couples of years, and just picked it back up this season so I don't know if this is just started happening this season or not. But I don't recall this many alliances being made, and then basically broken or just become irrelevant before the week is even up (sometimes before the day is even up).

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.
THE BRIGADE RUINED THIS frickING GAME.

This was definitely an occurrence last season as well. Season 14 had it too but not nearly to this degree.
The Brigade definitely seemed to start all this crap where everyone insisted (I'm guessing at production's suggestion) on naming every freaking grouping of people that was discussed. There's a definite move away from actually splitting the house to everyone playing each other. Leads to a far more confusing game. Can't say it's better for entertainment purposes and seems to leads to more predictable, unanimous final votes.

But at least those alliances stuck together. My question is about all of the "alliances" that have been formed this season that don't last the week.

From what I remember about The Brigade was no one else in the house aligned so they went right through the house. If I recall, each brigade member kept a female close, but their ultimate alliance was TB. So, in the sense that no one else in the house aligned and made any moves, yes, it sucked.
I kind of like all the alliances this season. Early on, it looked like the BS would run through the house. Didn't happen. Then, the Detonators. Didn't happen. Yet. Seeing as how they are fixing to lose a member. I like how this season has several different ways it can go to get to the final 2. Only thing for sure, Jocasta and the God Squad will not be there.

This game will only be interesting if one of Donnie, Hayden, Jocasta, or Victoria wins HoH at the DE.
Posted on 8/5/14 at 11:10 am to FalseProphet
Why would Victoria winning be interesting? She'll just put up whoever Derrick tells her to put up.
Posted on 8/5/14 at 11:11 am to Bamatab
True. I'd like to think she wouldn't nominate Donnie or Jocasta.

I agree
This is when it got all screwed up. An “alliance” just means you align with somebody else’s goals. It does not mean you are on a “team” with them. And in this game, goals change all the time. Ever since the Brigade, these people have gotten this mixed up. This is still Big Brother and it’s an individual’s game and you better watch your own azz!!!

Jocasta, or Victoria
I'm of the opinion that nothing interesting will come from anything these two do. Horribly uninteresting. Horribly cast.
I guess Jocasta would put up some combo of Frankie/Christine/Derrick, but outside of God's hand reaching down from the clouds and physically taking control of her, I can't foresee Jocasta winning anything in this game. Victoria would probably put up Caleb and Jocasta?

If Donnie could pull it out, it would be the perfect time for him.
He could nominate almost anyone he wanted with near impugnity (they have short memories when the evictions happen so quickly), and he could blow up the detonators pretty easily (I really do think he knows the most about them without really knowing).

I disagree
I think they are very useful in ensuring making it past the early weeks. Obviously they can come back to bite you in the arse if you aren't carful but they still play a crucial role in vote counts and nominations.
Last years alliance's is basically how Andy won. He played both sides of the house so well and basically won using the available alliances to him. Yes there is no power house alliances that are being useful but people who form them end up disliking each other and that blows itself up.

She is useful as a pawn. Her and Victoria are easy to put up and easy to keep around.

Donny would probably be the first person she would want to put up. If not, he'd be the backdoor option.
