I kind of get the feeling that people who have seen Dan's season really appreciate him, where those who haven't see him as a big a-hole. I try to explain to her the magic Dan is working right now and she just doesn't want to hear it.

I've watched every season of BB (including the season 1 abortion). I have never liked Dan. I can respect his gameplay, but he's a little too quietly cocky for me. I can't quite put my finger on it but whatever.

And again I'll say, the point of the game is to get to the final 2 and win. Not just make the final 2. Therefore how you get to the final 2 is important. You need to get there without completely alienating the majority of the jury if you expect to win (unless you're lucky enough to reach the final with a useless Jenn or Joe type player).

ETA: Dr. Will is probably my favorite player of all time so I don't have a problem with cut throat play. But Will didn't take himself too seriously...... I get the feeling Dan is pretty full of himself.

well that was his plan, but Shane and Ian both won POVs when he tried to get them out

Now that that isn't an option, his best bet to win is next to Dani since she was right along with him in every plan (except Shane's)...Dan had 0 shot to win against Shane or Ian and he knew it

He was already going to be way down due to having won before, and he definitely won't have Ian or Shane's vote (I think Ian will be devastated when he gets played and not taken to the Final 2)

Other than that I think it will be a tossup

Also Dan is going to blast Dani out of the water with his final speech...if Dani tries to say she played a "clean" game he will destroy her, her lies were just as cold-blooded as Dan's

ETA: its just funny because he should have been gone week 2, but they decided to go after Shane instead of Danielle to get both Dan and her out of the house...and now they are at the end

Dan definitely comes off as being too cocky, but that air of being cocky is really only represented in his diary room sessions. When he is with other players, he keeps it toned down and he has the ability to make the other players think that they are coming up with the strategy after Dan has planted the seed in their head.

If nothing else, Dan plays the game 24/7 whereas other players form an alliance and think they can just coast for a few weeks with their alliance. Dan always seemed to be one or two weeks ahead in his game preparation.

However, I think the blindside of Shane was an unnecessary risk that he did not need to take. Dan will lose against Ian in the final two but he should beat either Shane or Danielle. I can understand his uncertainty if he thinks Danielle would have taken Shane to the final two, but if he could convince her to take him down with the POV last night, he could have convinced her to take him to the final two since the jury would "not vote for him to win the game a second time."

Yeah, but saving Ian 100% guaranteed his way into final two, while keeping Shane around at best guarantees only a 66% chance of making the final two, and probably realistically a 33% chance as Danielle kept getting more and more emotionally attached.

It was the right move.

I disagree. I think that date engulfed Danielle in lala land and, had the honeymoon lasted till Wednesday, she would've taken Shane to the final 2. Before the date,I definitely agree that Danielle was sticking with Dan.

Someone already said it. Dan is working with what he's got. He'd much rather Joe or Jenn be in the house but that's not how it played out.

Shane stays Dan has 33% chance at Final 2. Had to win HoH.

Shane goes and Dan's chances have now jumped to 100%. The only factor being Dani's emotions, but seeing as how she threw the first leg last night, it seems like her emotions are in check.

I'm pretty sure dani and Shane both would have taken each other to final 2 so Dan definitely needed to do that and just hope by Wednesday that dani understands and also realizes she has absolutely no shot to beat Ian in finals.

the last two posters have been spot on

the move guaranteed Dan a chance to plead his case in front of the jury (and the way he can mist people, who knows what happens)

I see no way where Ian takes Dani with him, and there's no way Dani takes Ian with her

Shane would have taken Dani and Dani might have taken Shane

I just can't believe Dani and Shane were stupid enough to not think of it as well and willingly took him off the block...dumbasses

ETA: scratch that, I can believe it...but am still shocked by it

I agree. Just never liked the guy, but he knows how to play the game. Either that, or Big Brother production really just wanted to create another Dr. Will type character and scripted this season for him. Some of the stuff that has happened in Dan's favor really seems almost too good to be true without outside interference from the production/writers.

All that aside, I really can't stand when he talks in the diary room, especially with how his head is always cocked/tilted towards the side. He must have had a bad case of torticollis as an infant.

I'm also not a fan of Dan, so maybe that bias is clouding my judgment on this, but am I the only one who thinks Dan's plea to the jury will fall flat??

Dan's whole push in the diary room has been I'm doing whatever, lying, backstabbing whoever FOR MY FAMILY. Well, having already won the money FOR HIS FAMILY once before, I think the jury is going to end up resenting that.

His family already got the chance to have their lives changed. Everyone has a family and all of their lives could be improved dramatically by winning. Why should he get that chance twice?

If he plays that angle too far to justify what a terrible person he was, I think he'll lose.

But if he keeps it light and says hey it's just a game, I love playing the game, and think I played the best game, he'll probably win.

Interested to see how he plays it.

I just think it has more to do with who he will be competing with...

Danielle is not the best speaker and I feel like her speech will be very cheesy and corny, and she has also played just as dirty of a game so if she tries to say she "wasn't as bad" as Dan it will destroy her

I don't know what Danielle will be able to say other than her big comp wins (which are significant)...but Dan has comp wins too and planned all the big moves he and Dani made

I may be off base but it could really be 6-1 with Danielle only getting Shane's vote

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Whether you hate Dan or love Dan, if he doesn't win this season, it's a travesty.

Dan lover here. Haven't posted in this thread before, but I've been watching BB since the first season. I don't really know how he's managed to survive this season, but it's been fun watching.

I thought I'd love Frank, but his game play was too weak. Being great at the challenges just isn't enough.

Delusional Dani has been interesting. I NEVER thought she'd make it this far. She cracks me up. How she hasn't gained more weight this summer, I'll never know, but that girl can snack.

I think she has...she looked rather large last night in the episode

Dan made this season interesting for sure, and although Dani is delusional she was a perfect puppet for Dan to use

the genius part of Dan's plan is he used his previous gameplay and style and used it to his advantage by switching it...the only reason people believe what he says is because he was so loyal in his season

Can't wait for the finale when Julie asks for everyone in the jury that was put out by Dan to raise their hands, and everyone has to raise their hands. Even Ashley, Dan told Ian to put her up.

IMO, this season puts Dan on top as best ever. Not only was he able to get himself to the final 2 again, but he was able to take his only remaining teammate after being a man down after the first week

All of this plus Kara was the first houseguest voted out so, aside from Willie, 2 out of 3 of his team were the first two out the house.

Brink got it!
