Is there a Cliff's Notes version of what that ruse was?

basically Jessie and natalie went around saying that all of the weird votes, all of the lying and all of the manipulating that was going on behind the scenes in the house was originating with Michelle.

CBS has been somewhat vague on what the rules of the coup d'etat are, but since the phrase basically means to overthrow a government, wouldn't the use of the power make Jeff the HOH and thereby he gets to name the nominees, but he could no longer vote (except as a tie-breaker) and Chima would get to vote? If so, this could save Jessie in the event Jessie and Natalie are put up by Jeff:

To evict Jessie: Michelle, Jordan
To evict Natalie: Russel, Chima, Lyia, Kevin

Not sure where Kevin votes. He would want Jessie out to make Lydia a better player in the game, but he may vote with her to get Natalie out in order not to piss Lydia off. It would be great if there was a tie vote and Jeff could payback for Casey by giving some smartass comment like Jessie did when he broke the tie to send Casey home.

the HoH and the POV winner are safe, but the HoH can not vote. So with CDT Jeff is basically an HoH that can vote.

Also if the target is Jessie then why put up natalie? I assume Chima will nominate Russell and Lydia (or michelle) as a play for getting Russell out. The POV happens, a replacement is nominated for Lydia and on Thursday Jeff swoops in, wipes russell and the replacement off the nominee block, replaces them with Jessie and a pawn (say Kevin) and Jessie goes home.

one advantage to putting natalie up alongside jessie is that you remove a sure vote for jessie by doing so

putting them both up is the way to go i think

After thinking about it, I don't think Jeff is going to use the power unless he or Jordan ends up on the block. If he doesn't use it to save him or Jordan, then he can't piss off anyone in the jury house.

nahh i think that would be a waste of a good chance. Jeff has made it very clear he wants to start making moves, and go after jessie. he cant just sit back and hope he wins HOH when he knows that jessie is going to be after him soon.

my biggest question is, does he use the magic power the day of the eviction ceremony, or right after the veto comp. if he does it right after the comp he has a chance to set up the votes. if he waits till the last minute, its a crap shoot.

also, i was thinking, i assume jeff still gets to participate in next weeks hoh right? cause if he wins that, he is pretty much in control of the house

I thought the only time he can use it is at the ceremony.

Not necessarily. They can discuss it as a "IF one of us has the power scenario what should we do?"

He should tell Russ and Jordan that they should discuss their options for if one of them has it or if one of them doesn't.

He can't use the power until the day of the live vote during the show. He has to stay quiet until then.

You need to remember, Boogie had this power before, and he was wise not to use it.

BUTTTTT we have also seen since then that the jury house is prone to reward game play over merely "favorites" so if jeff had the CDT and didn't use it then it makes him look weak to the jury

unless the jury doesn't find out about it.

Looks like Piven was the host of the Have/Have Not competition. Probably there to help promote his new movie that comes out next week.

Chima already mentioned to Russell that him and Lydia are going up on the block. Jeff told Russell that if he happens to win POV then he will take him off. Also, Jeff asked Russell if he had to choose between Nat or Jessie which one would he pick to evict. Russell responded Jessie without a doubt. Jeff also mentioned Russell's word is good to him so it looks like if Russell is on the block still on Thurs. we may have some surprised houseguest. Also, Russell won 10k in the Have/Have Not game.

jeff needs one more vote to show jessie the door.

need 4 to evict, and he has himself, jordan, and russell. if he can talk kevin into it voting for jessie, than its game over

No he needs 3 votes and he can break the tie. Maybe fewer depending on who gets nominated

Yeah, they were saying over on Jokers Updates that the last time the coup d'etat was a part of the show, season 7, niether the HOH or the coup d'etat holder got to vote.

Question, Jeff would still get to play for HOH next week, but Chima wouldn't, right? If so that really screws Chima and whoever is left out of Jessie/Natalie (assuming jeff puts them up).

Jeff should leave Lydia up to ensure he gets Kevin to vote out Jessie and just tell her later that he could only change one of them.
