Seriously, I usually only watch the auditions, they are priceless. Apparantly I missed some really good performances last year by David Cook.
I watched all of the 2005 Idol. Bo Bice was a good friend of mine when I used to live in Huntsville, AL.

I'm not very entertained by schadenfreude. That's all the first 5 or 6 weeks of Idol is all about. I think fully 1/2 to 3/4 of the ones who make it to Hollywood are pre-selected by the show's producers. The "bad" singers are probably people that just want to get on TV--or plants.
It's no longer a talent competition. Looking back, I think Kelly Clarkson may be the only legitimate winner.
Reuben Studdard may have been a surprise winner in season 2 because, in hindsight, I think Clay Aiken was a plant and was supposed to be the winner of season 2.
I really don't like this show anymore.

I read that this year during the auditions they will be focusing more on the talented singers and less on the ones that are silly and just make a fool of themselves.

You might as well go to your local Karaoke bar and yell at them because that is the same thing going on American Idol until the top 12 or whatever come on.

I personally think Scrubs is a ridiculous show but I get why so many people like it. The same for American Idol. Although, it seems you're not one of the "cool kids" if you watch American Idol and think a show like 24 is just average.
