When i was 17 or 18 I entered a music competition and had to audition for the symphony orchestra. Had I won, I would have made my "debut" at a pretty major concert in front of about 10,000 people.
I auditioned with a trumpet concerto I had played literally a thousand times and knew front and back. I would match Wynton Marsalis note for note and nuance for nuance when I played along with the cassette (
). When I got before the judges, I forgot about 1/3 of it. I can empathize.
But that shite was still funny though...
