Can someone please explain to me why Deandre is getting all of this love? That dude sounds fcking terrible and if I can understand 3 words that come out of his mouth, he's having a good night.

And the hate on Hollie tonight was pathetic. That girl can sing and imo has the best pure voice on that show.

Three I don't mind seeing leave the show:

Colton - his voice is whiny and his hair is homo extreme
Deandre - I'd rather listen to a carpenter bee fly by my right ear
Phillip - dude roars and makes a face like a lion

Just got finished watching after getting in from the Hornets game. I watched many of the performances a few times and it was interesting because some of them seemed to grow on me when I watched a repeat after thinking they weren't that good on the first listen.
I know I am ridiculously biased at this point about Hollie but the judges were absolutely awful with her tonight. It was totally unfair how harsh they were. That performance was actually good. She broke out of her shell tonight like everyone wanted her to. It wasn't her best but she was raked across the coals by the judges unfairly. I have watched enough idol over the last 11 years to know that they were doing all they can tonight to influence votes away from her. It was absolutely obvious. She looked hot tonight though. Love her.

I didn't like Elise's performance at all. I enjoyed her last week but this week was rough.

I think joshua is a really good singer but he is kind of starting to get old to me. He is definitely talented no doubt but he is getting stale IMO.

Skylar brought the house down. Loved her singing "wind beneath my wings". She was great. Her voice sounded great and sounded less twangy than usual. Great job. Best of the night IMO.

I really liked Colton singing "time after time". Really think this guy has potential to have a great career after this show.

Phillip Phillips had a solid performance tonight. Loved the song choice. The thing that doesn't help Phillip is that he sounds almost the same in every song cover he does. He likes to almost do a combo yell/scream/growl in every song it seems. Very strange but unique.

I am just flat out not a fan of Jessica. She can sing. I'm not denying that. I just can't see myself enjoying any of her music outside of American idol. I don't get why she is so popular and ranked #1 on fan site power rankings. She also keeps talking about this Beyonce-like alter ego that she has which is making me not like her even more. It is awkward when she starts talking about her "alter ego".

What can I say about Deandre that I haven't said in previous weeks? Nothing. He needs to leave with the quickness. Awful. The falsetto makes my ears bleed. His songs and performances are a mess. He tries to go back and forth with the falsetto and normal tone and it sounds terrible. He actually sounds fine when he sings normal. But he needs to go.

I'm sure people will disagree but I actually think tonight was one of the strongest weeks of the season. Entertaining performances and the duets were great. Really likes Skylar and Colton's also Hollie and Deandre were good too.

This is my main issue with watching the singing competition shows. I watch all of them but I really hate most of the themes that they make singers on these shows do. In order for these singers to be at their best every week, you need to be doing stuff that fits you. The type of music that you will be singing. Forcing these singers to do some thing not in their comfort zone leads to them being on the chopping block and then you lose a great singer because of a terrible theme.

I'd rather see a singer and performer that does what they do best and excel at their genre than have someone perform avererage across all genres but are just good enough to stay in a competition.

The most successful singers don't do multiple styles of music. They do what they do best. The themes on these shows limits the multiple great performances you could get from someone of they were allowed to sing the type of music that they would be singing if they had a recording contract.
