Quick question. I have seen Batman Begins. I have not seen The Dark Knight (I know, what a travesty). Seeing TDKR in the next two days is optimal. Would it be OK to see this one without having seen The Dark Knight originally?

Knowledge of the events of Batman Begins is more essential when going to see The Dark Knight Rises. You should be fine. Though I'd recommend seeing The Dark Knight as well.

I definitely want to and plan on it in the future, based on all I've read on it. I just wanted to make sure that I can watch The Dark Knight Rises without having seen The Dark Knight first. Thanks.

My memory is a little fuzzy here, but did Bruce pretend to be "not Batman" to Selina after he came back to Gotham? I remeber them referring to his "big friend" or whatever when talking about The Clean Slate underneath the overpass. She did witness Bane calling Batman Bruce Wayne though, so why continue the charade? Or am I misremebering?

Bane said that after Batman had turned to face him. I don't think he was aware that Selina had stayed to watch their fight

You aren't misremembering. That's very typical Wayne and Selina interaction from the comics. It tells me Hathaway and Bale did their research.

Hathaway's Selina Kyle / Catwoman might be the best direct comic acting interpretation of the entire series.

I think Batman could safely assume Selina Kyle heard. It was only a few seconds after the gate shut.

You're not. That happened. I think it may have been her way of asking if he had access to all of the Batman stuff, or if he was even capable. Not sure, but that I caught that too.

Selina knew Bruce Wayne was Batman. The very first thing she says to him is, "I thought they killed you." That was in reference to the fight Batman had with Bane down in the sewers. Bruce then explains that they have to stop the bomb from detonating and then Selina says, "Are you going to put your big friend on the case?" To which Bruce responds, "I'm trying. But I have to get to Fox."

I was just joking bro. Honestly, I don't remember some of the finer details from this film because I was so painfully bored that I stopped paying attention at some parts

To each his own man. I had a few issues with the movie, but they were within what I would a grant a director for 'creative vision' when deviating from source material.

I would put this Batman story on top of the trilogy, but thats me.

Did anyone else feel as though they showcased Batman's new vehicle/plane/hovercraft/all-purpose machine like they do fancy cars in Bond movies?

I also feel like they used that machine as an easy out to save the day in a lot of instances. "Oh no Batman is backed in to a corner...SSHHHHPPPPRRRRROOOOOVEEEEEE HERE IS THE AWESOME HOVERCRAFT..."

Also, some people told me this movie was "right behind TDK" but it wasn't even close in my opinion.

ETA: Looks like a lot of people weren't down with the unrealistic ways of this movie. I know it's based off of a comic book but I guess the way TDK was, I was expected a more gritty, realistic feel. Too often in this movie it got away from that. They made stuff work just because (like Blake knowing Bruce Wayne is Batman).

Please explain how anything in this movie was less realistic than the other two movies.

Fans of the movie - where you more impressed with Hathaway or Hardy?

I saw an interesting critic quote stating Hardy did more with only 20% of his face available in TDKR than most actors do with 100%. I liked his voice and his swagger. Very good that Hardy honed in on two of Bane's biggest comic traits, arrogance and being protective. His facial expressions when speaking to Wayne and during the Blackgate breakout were excellent.

As previously stated, I was let down with casting of Hathaway, but she blew me away. I couldn't ask for a better on screen Selina Kyle or Catwoman.

Hathaway because I had lower expectations and her character was supposed to be more nuanced than Bane- who wasnt intended to be as complex. I was impressed with Hardy though. You can tell how much work both of them put in

I'd probably go with Hathaway as Catwoman. I know almost next to nothing about Bane, other than his strength, intelligence, and the fact that he broke Batman's back. Other than that, not too familiar with him, so it wasn't difficult for Hardy to match my expectations. And he did an excellent job.

Catwoman, however, is probably the next most familiar of Batman's rogues behind the Joker, and I had huge expectations that I wasn't too sure Hathaway would meet. I feel like she often gets a bad reputation from her earlier movies and people use those to judge what kind of an actress she is. But I saw her in Havoc, The Devil Wears Prada, and Rachel Getting Married before she was even cast in this movie, so I knew her potential.

Anne Hathaway knocked Selina Kyle/Catwoman out of the park. And the writers completely nailed her character. I think the Joker and Catwoman (from this trilogy of films) are the two most faithful adaptations of comic book characters in the history of the comic book movie genre thus far.

Know that he is one arrogant motha ****** in the comics. I definetly felt that from Hardy's Bane.

I'm going to need to watch some of these one day.

Hard to argue there. I would add Bruce Wayne/Batman, but Nolan's Batman wasn't quite the detective and self made engineer for gadgets that the comics portray. My only real Batman related compliant from the series.

Tony Stark disagrees with you.
