Money?

He was still technically bankrupt when he "died," and what was originally supposed to be doled out, couldn't be.

One issue that bothered me is that Wayne withheld this fusion reactor because he was worried about someone turning it into a weapon, specifically Pavel's findings. But Pavel's work turned the reactor into a nuke, which already exists. Unless I'm missing something, which very well could be as I was struggling not to pee on myself during parts of the movie, doesn't this seem a little ridiculous? And couldn't the League of Shadows obtain a nuke without going through all of the trouble involved with stealing Wayne's nuke specifically?

Dagget being a known consort of bane, Tate is free and clear of any and all suspicion (a poor choice on his part)

He is worried about dagget, a ruthless businessman/criminal getting his hands on it. Not a philanthropist who has been behind the project for years who invested incredible sums of her own money into it.

He is torn on what to do and makes the choice (the wrong one) to put his trust in someone else

He doesn't want to flood it and if you remove that option from the table, which he did, he pretty much had a gun to his head as to installing Tate as the CEO

Let's also not forget that he 100% put Tate's pussy on a pedestal.

Them sleeping together had a lot to do with it too I imagine.

And how was Bane so easily able to convince non-criminal residents of Gotham to die for his cause? I feel like there could have been a few scenes explaining more of a class disparity other than Catwoman mentioning it once

Probably.

The villains in all the Batman movies have pretty convoluted plots to accomplish their goals.

He got the criminals to do that. The non-criminals were either in hiding or being attacked by the criminals.

That and he also worked closely with her on the fusion project. You could tell from their conversations that the fusion reactor was their shared brainchild.

Yeah, I wish they could've expanded on the occupation of the city more. I took it as a lot of mass hysteria and anger a la like when the French Revolution happened.

. When he found the Bat Equipment “off the books” we are left wondering how?

Applied Sciences and the 14 defense subsidiaries were "off the record", meaning they weren't liable to being absorbed by another company. This doesn't mean that no one knows where the armory is located in Wayne Tower. In fact, every board member probably knows where the armory is located. Remember in Begins? Earle walked right into the armory to talk to Fox. We've already discussed this in the thread. You obviously seem to have an issue with the "realism" factor in TDK, so let's start with Begins.

1. Fiery wood planks fall and kill Ra's in the fort, yet when the fiery wood planks fall from an even greater height, they only knock out Bruce.

2. Batman pushes a button on the bottom of his boots, emitting sound waves at a certain frequency, and 10 seconds later, Arkum is flooded with hundreds of bats? And the bats somehow prevent the dozens of SWAT agents from taking out Batman as he walks right by them?

3. The entire concept of a microwave emitter vaporizing the entire city's water supply. Enough said.

4. Bruce jumping off a multi story building as a ball of fire and sustaining no physical injuries. Even more curious is why he was even able to think clearly while on the hallucinogen, when every single other person subjected to the compound rolls around in a dazed confusion.

5. The microwave emitter, a multi billion dollar prototype typically used in desert warfare, is being transported to Wayne headquarters on a regular cargo ship? With little security? Makes sense.

6. The LoS was dumping the compound into the water supply for months, yet city regulatory agencies regularly check the chemical composition and sanitation levels of the city's water in accordance with EPA regulations - how did the fact that a powerful hallucinogen was circulating in the water supply get overlooked?

I could go on. Or we could move on to TDK...

I would guess out of fear of death they just followed the masses. Without Batman or police, it was either follow Bane or die

As far as I know, he didn't. He was using street thugs and homeless people to help him with his construction projects underground and also got them to be extra muscle work. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that only those in the League of Shadows knew what they were truly there for: a suicide mission.

The 30+ members on the board adamantly disapproved of the clean energy project. Daggett was even seen early in the film mocking Miranda for wasting her money on Wayne's idealistic endeavors.

She was the only one who not only helped fund the project, but shared in Bruce's vision for a better world.

Can't explain no broken bones, but bruises could be avoided by the suit I guess? And he was freaking out on the compound, could barely talk to Alfred to get help.

because it couldn't be absorbed through ingestion and was likely undetectable.

The answer, and I'm sure Polar Bear agrees with me, is this: While Christopher Nolan has grounded Batman in a state of heightened reality and realism in his trilogy, these movies are still just movies. Nothing in them could ever happen in real life. Nolan's job is to try to make it appear as if these things could happen even though the vast majority of us know that it couldn't. That's the point of movies and Nolan's films are no different.
