Capping off days of incessant rumors and years of slowly percolating buzz, FOX made it official on Tuesday (March 24) morning: "The X-Files" is coming back to TV.

The landmark sci-fi-tinged conspiracy drama, which ran 202 episodes on FOX between 1993 and 2002, will resume production in Summer 2015 on a six-episode event series. FOX will announce additional details, specifically a premiere date, later.

I was so surprised when I found out she was British.

She's still so very hot.

Have you seen The Fall? It's a really good show with Gillian Anderson as a detective trying to catch a serial killer in Belfast. She's great in it and she still has it going on.

For now, what we know is that the key pieces of the "X-Files" puzzle are all back, specifically creator and executive producer Chris Carter and stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson.

I wonder if this is why the Chris Carter series Amazon had green lit ended up getting cancelled. Although with only 6 episodes it seems like just a scheduling issue.

Would put it over the top if Gilligan gets involved.

they better.

They need to wipe the stain of that last movie (and the final season) from our collective memories forever.
