I'm thinking 100% he was at least an apprentice of Luke and is likely a grandson to Vader.
Luke may have told him about the last battle with Vader.
I know the nights of Ren are not Sith, but I feel there will be a resurgence of Sith or something Sith in the movie.

That's what I'm thinking. Maybe in his training Ren succumbed to the dark side.

Andy Serkis did post this on his twitter recently. I'm guessing that could be motion capture for a light saber.

I've very interested in seeing where they go with this story line and how Kilo Ren ties in to Vader. Is he just a fan? Or are they really connected? And who are these Knights of Ren? Where did they come from?

Pic of Serkis is from the new jungle book movie.

I really liked that scene as well. Fighters coming from direct sunlight, pretty good shot.
Man I cannot wait until this movie.

Luke was Ren's master. Luke told Ren some of the Vader story but as its very personal and troubling he didn't say much. Ren becomes obsessed in the story and discovers the darkside and rejects Luke as a master to pursue the darkside as he thinks its more powerful. Luke and Ren had a huge falling out and possibly a fight because of that.
Ren goes on to carry on Darth Vader's legacy as he feels he's connected to him. Ren believes he's can be the next Sith lord and wants the power.
Luke is devastated and feels guilty. He knows he took his only apprentice and let him turn to the dark side. And after the possible battle between Luke and Ren he knows he isn't as strong as he used to be so with his guilt and weaknesses he goes into hiding.
We don't see Luke until the end of the movie when they find Luke and tell him that Ren is taking over as a Sith lord spreading the dark side. So he comes out to confront his apprentice to help stop his madness.
Not bad

I also think Finn bites the dust in his duel with Kylo Ren. We see Rey crying over something in what looks to be the same snowy forest where Ren and Finn confronted one another.

Holy Cow, This International Star Wars: The Force Awakens Trailer Has Tons Of New Footage
That trailer was quite a bit different.

it feels like they are going to make Luke the new Obi Wan figure with Kylo being this version of Anakin. It would be a really cool twist to have Kylo return to the good side of the force so that its something different.
We have not seen anyone really come back from the dark side in the movies. yes, vader saves look at the end of ROTJ but that was to wrap up the trilogy. im referring more being able to see a real story unfold from that transition.

That better not be Chewbacca. Kill off any original character but him.
I have a soft spot for him.

did the new Duracell Commercial spoil Rey's role?
(I don't think so)
From the link:

If Rey is a Jedi, that means there are at least two in the film, her and John Boyega's character, which is a pretty big deal considering they were so few and far between in the original trilogy.
Why do they think Finn is a Jedi?

I'll take this one step further. I think Ren is Han and Leia's kid (Luke's nephew and Vader's grandson). Possibly Rey's brother.
