Then the prophecy makes no sense

Wait, what happened to all that midi-chlorians and the "microbiotic world" stuff Lucas himself talked about?

It seems like we get some anonymous internet user producing a new "real plan" every few months.

So wouldn't Luke, who rebuilt the Jedi and destroyed the Sith, be the REAL chosen one?

That ain’t balance either. It was always Anakin’s prophecy and he succeeded in Return. Luke wasn’t a Jedi. He was a Force user who had given himself up completely to the will of the Force. His refusal to fight Sidious is what brought back the Jedi in Vader.

And Anakin has to destroy the Jedi Order in Revenge. The Jedi Order was no longer serving at the Will of the Force, they were serving at the will of a corrupt Republic. Not only was it a corrupt Republic, but it had been controlled in one form or another by the Sith for decades.

He brought the entire House of Cards down and there was balance in the Force.
