The Death Note series is one of the best I have ever seen, and I have seen pretty much everything.

Just finished watching. How did L initially pinpoint Light as a suspect? I must've missed that part. I also didn't understand why that whole team of agents jumped off the building.

He saw that the source of the hack had used the cop's (Light's dad) Computer or IP.

But he didn't suspect Light right away. He does tell Light's dad this early on in L's investigation.

Never read the manga or saw the series but I really enjoyed this other than the ending being wtf like someone else said.

The cinematography was brilliant. Some amazing wide and continuous shots.

you should watch it. In the anime Mia gets her own Shinigami that protects her and the battle between Light and L is awesome.

Just watched this. Felt like the guy who played L was miscast. I didn't believe that a guy that young could have the pull to do half of the stuff he did, and the mask at the beginning was super cheesy. It took me out of the movie.

It wasn't the worst movie I've ever seen, but it was probably the worst I've watched in the past couple of years.

Just watched it as well. Not great. But definitely not the worst ever.

The mask made sense. What didn't make sense was him taking it off.

If he knew how Kira worked and wore the mask because of it, then it doesn't make sense why he didn't know how Kira worked later on in the movie...? Right?

You lost me. My point was I was okay with L coming out and wearing the mask. Didn't feel cheesy given his research. I questioned why he STOPPED wearing it. Made no sense. Unless he was 100% certain that no one would find out his name.

In that case, why wear the mask at all? Didn't feel cheesy to wear it. Felt confused why he removed it.

Well, it seemed originally that he wore the mask because L only had a theory of how Kira could kill (Japan scene), then tested that publicly (press conference), and finally once he figured out it was Light decided to truly test as to whether Light was trying to kill bad people or on a god trip. Somewhere between the press conference and figuring out it is Light he realizes that Kira needs both a face and a name.

That's how I worked it out, from what I remember of the movie.
