I’ve made it to episode four, and it’s good, but it goes sooooo fast to almost be disorienting. Every episode could almost be an entire series.

It’s still awesome watching it, but damn it is fast and brief when it comes to any complexity and depth.

I'm amazed how much footage there is of it. Tech wasn't exactly cheap or easy to use/preserve back then.

Right. Especially some of the action footage in the air or at sea.

Yeah, big time. It’d be nice if there were a demand for a high quality production modern World at War type series but it’s not happening. I like the perspective of seeing the war from the eyes of a soldier, no matter which country.

The footage was cool but they didn’t go in depth on anything really. Just a quick general overview of the war which is fine but I’d like more detail

It's a nice compliment to The World at War, which will probably always be the definitive WW2 documentary

Started it last night and this was my thought after getting through a couple of episodes. There have been tidbits of new information. Overall though, the footage has been really good. Also, not sure if its just not available, but there has not been much footage from the Pacific Theatre. I might not have gotten to those episodes yet though.

Yep. So many of these can get overly dry and put me to sleep. Not this one.

Yeah, they managed to discuss Germany's invasion of Poland without mentioning that Hitler had cut a deal with Russia and that Russia was invading Poland from the other side. Just a gigantic omission.

The video footage is very compelling and makes this a very good watch. But the narrative barely scratches the surface.
