Paramount buying it. Less chance of manipulation from the government.

Paramount is more politically centrist than Netflix, so they would probably lift most of the DEI checkboxes and you may actually get good movies again.

Netflix makes shite, too. I don't want their film execs anywhere near Warners and Chris Nolan, DC, LOTR, etc.

All this shite makes my head hurt. HBO Max was my favorite app (I still like it and watch it a lot) but now they’ve either let go or are in the process of letting go probably so much of the stuff I got the app for in the first place and I don’t see this helping things. Whoever buys it is buying for the Harry Potter IP, the cheap and bingeable reality tv from Discovery/TLC’s library, and DCEU IP; not the classic/80s/90s cartoons, the sitcoms, HBO original shows both past and present, and TCM content that made me originally want to get a subscription. I’ve really enjoyed The Pitt and their original movies every Halloween and Christmas too, so I’m fully expecting some of those to get trimmed and shopped around too

End of cinema as we know it. 95% of Netflix content is pure trash and will never replace traditional movies. Only thing they care about is corporate control and putting quantity over quality in favor of profits.

Corporatization of old-school Hollywood production companies has destroyed cinema. Directors and writers are being kicked to the curb if they dare deviate the slightest bit from what the corporate executives want. Screenwriting is absolute trash too.
