NCFOM - Larry Mahan quote?

I was watching this for about the tenth time last week. The boot store dialogue caught my attention. I swore I heard, "Got a pair of Larry Mahans...shoulder size 11?" That made no sense to me, so I did some searches and sure enough, there were some hits. OTOH, some searches result in "Larry Mahans in black" or some such. If it is "...shoulder, size 11", what does that mean? Model?

I thought that was a brand of boots

Shoulder is a style of Larry Mahan brand boots.

Wow, ok. I am not a boot person, and none of my searches revealed that. Thanks!

No problem. That's just one example of how intricate and accurate the dialogue in a Cohen brothers movie can be.

Larry Mahan was an old rodeo cowboy who had a popular line of Western clothing and boots.
"Shoulder" refers to the type of leather used in the boot.
So he's buying a pair of Larry Mahan boots with shoulder leather, size 11.
And I think that scene comes from the book.

I sometimes get Larry Mahan and Walt Garrison mixed up.

Just a pinch between your cheek and gums.

They were the two big rodeo commercial guys (even though Garrison was more famous as a Dallas Cowboy).
