re: MTV's The Challenge 41

Are they still making Paramount+ only seasons of The Challenge? I didn't think anyone was watching those. They tried that Challenge USA show on CBS and that didn't work either. MTV Challenge is the only one people care about.

Man, I hope they don’t ever do that. I love tha Challenge but P+ isn’t the best streaming service (or super user friendly at times). If I could only watch it there I assume I’d watch it a lot less than I do now (or even not at all). It’s easy for me with cable because my DVR just records it for me. But I do think they should make it more accessible. Airing it immediately after on P+ is a good idea. Not sure why they don’t do that.

shite, you can’t even watch episodes on mtv.com anymore. That used to be my go-to if I missed it on Wednesday nights, or if my DVR didn’t record it for whatever reason. I’d just go on their site and stream it there. I have absolutely no idea why they stopped doing that shite.

If you’re a network and this is one of your best or more bankable properties, it seems like common sense to make it as available as possible to the masses. But for some reason they don’t seem interested in that. It’s fricking stupid.

I'm on the same page as you. I DVR it and watch it after so we can skip the commercials or watch it the next few days when we have time. If It was my choice I would obviously keep it live on MTV since they have stated they are not getting ride of those channels since the merger went down. After it airs like BB and Survivor it automatically goes on P+ to stream for the millions of people who no longer have cable like Havok and struggle to find it. It's 2025 no one should have to ever struggle to figure out how to watch their favorite tv show. It makes no sense.

From what I gathered it had something to do in the contract that if it airs on mtv it can't go on paramount + till months later because if it would go automatically on + it would hurt MTV in some way. Now that they are merged there is no reason why this should happen anymore. You would just be fighting yourselves and customers.

I have an apple tv and use the paramount + app on that and I've never had problems but you're not the first person that brought this up. I'm sure they will be revamping the streaming service app soon with all this new money.

And I've gone to my guide to try to find a replay to record that one but they don't re-air it. Or if they do it's like once, maybe.

So not really sure what that deal is that you're talking about unless it's an antiquated provision in their contract. I could almost understand it if they re-aired episodes a lot so putting it on P+ would hurt their TV viewer numbers. But since they don't replay them really, it doesn't make sense.

I hear you. It makes zero sense. It's like MTV purposely tries to sabotage the challenge. It's the only show I like that I would have trouble finding if I didn't DVR it. I'm sure that is what will be brought up with the merger. They need a complete overhaul with the MTV division.

Julie Pizzie, who oversees the challenge, was on a podcast one time and mentioned how it was cheap to make and made MTV a profit especially compared to scripted television. Unscripted television is made for cheap normally and gets great ROI.

This is the absolute best case for Olivia. But just because Gabe is big doesn’t necessarily mean shite. And John is one of the best to ever do it.

This is a cool elimination. I miss Jordan and wish he was on this season. This is the kind of elimination that he would excel at because strategy will play a big part in it. Not sure he’d have enough to beat someone as big as Gabe though.

Are they not allowed to talk during this elimination? Or is there just nobody wanting to say anything? Because knowing there’s only one left to score is such an advantage on defense.
