Yep, and he's never really had a real job from I can tell. He used to sell some health stuff, but I don't think it was ever very successful.
I knew the start challengers and real world people used to make good money doing appearances, but that market had basically dried up from what Johnny and Kenny have said.

Watching the Duel 2 and I can't believe how much mtv focused on Dunbar. They must have really wanted to make this guy a star, because he's one of the worst personalities and players in the history of the show. Every second of show that he and Paula took up was time wasted. Diem was really bad as well.
Having Johnny or Wes on that show would have really really helped the entertainment value of that season.
I also really came to hate Torrie. She's easily one of the very top hottest girls ever on the show, but her drama queen/pageant queen bullshite personality is one of the biggest turnoffs I've ever seen.
Brad seems like a decent guy, but he was also just as paranoid as Robin in the game. After taxes, the first place winner would only take home $50K and these people act like their playing for $10 million.
Brittini was also an absolute smokeshow. She seemed to have a great attitude as well.

Johnny didn’t really come into his own from an entertainment standpoint until later down the line.
The most striking thing about those old seasons continues to be how much the production value has increased.

Yep, production of the actual game is way way better now. I think Duel 2 (2009) was the first season in HD. Everything before that all had an MTV Spring Break feel to it. Around Fresh Meat 2, is where you could tell they really upped the budget of the show. Cutthroat I think is the first season to have a really big, arena style eliminatiom chamber. And even then, the area was still only about 1/3 the size of the setups they have now.
They did used to do a hell of a lot more heights challenges though. Now everything is about 30 feet over water but back then they used to regularly hang folks 100-1000 ft in the air. I assume that's because of insurance liability costs.
I mean hell, one of the most famous clips ever is when Julien tried to unhook Veronica from her harness between two skyscrapers. I think that was on Inferno I, which was probably around 2003-ish.

Sarah and Jordan threw in Johnny and Nany right after a challenge that took place on the side of a skyscraper. And the opening challenge of free agents (?) finished on top of a skyscraper. So they still have some.

To each their own but Brad's wife Tori is super average I wouldn't even put her in the top 40 hottest girls in challenge history.

I may have overrated her slightly, but I still thinknshe's definetly a top tier cast member in terms of her body, especially on Duel 2.
I've been watching Rivals 2 (maybe the last of the good/great seasons from 2007-ish to 2013),and I couldnt help but notice how much more attractive Nany was on the older seasons than she is now. I don't know if it's the mileage or that she's lost too much weight, but now she looks borderline meth head.
I also stumbled upon some spoilers for the new season that they're filming right now (I think it's in Iceland.)
As others have said before it looks like John is not on this year. I won't reveal what results I saw, but I'll just say I was both happy and sad. I also think they may be having some trouble getting alternates this season, due to obvious reasons. If someone quits or gets hurt early, they could be up shite creek.
I hate that I saw the first couple results, but ibwoktb venture over to Vevmo again anytime soon. There's just too much there to ruin the season for everyone.

After watching Rivals 2 again, I just laugh when people put Cara in the top tear of females ever on the show.
She was an anchor on her team and Cooke carried her completely in the challenge and especially in the final. Cara is a huge baby as well. She's also one of the worst swimmers ever on the show.
There's numerous girl clearly better than her. Off the top of my head, Rachel, Emily, Evelyn, Jodi, Laurel, Aviv, Camila, Cooke and even Paula, I'd say are all better.

In terms of physical things she is probably 9th behind: Ninja, Rachel, Emily, Evelyn, Kam, Laurel, Jodi, Jenny. I think Cara/Dee/Camila/Nicole Z are very closely matched
Aviv, Cooke and Britini Sherrod were elite competitors but only did 1 season.

For the first time maybe ever it looks like the female cast looks to be deeper than the males. The only real layups from the regulars are probably Big T. I don't about some of the others who have never been on the show before.
Love that Theresa is back. I think she's married with multiple kids now. She was always a stunner and a good athlete. I wish someone like Cooke would come back, too.
For the dudes, it looks like this is going to be the Fessy/Nelson/Cory/Devin show...and I don't think that makes for great television, but MTV has been trying to make Cory a star for about 3 or 4 years now, and they know he needs to win a Challenge.
I would expect Darrell, CT, Leroy, Kyle and probably Wes to be a voting bloc as well. Problem is, most of them are really old now and past their primes. Darrell was on fricking Road Rules 11.
That show's been off the air for nearly 20 years. I think he was on The Gauntlet, which aired 2002-ish.

i mean wes is definitely gonna be with devin in some capacity. not sure what else is gonna happen. hard to tell if wes is gonna actually try to win or not. the last few seasons, he's done some confusing shite that makes it seem like he isn't trying to stay the whole time.

I think he's like Zach at this point but just does a way better job of showing it.
Upon Rewatching many of the old seasons, once Wes got off the juice about 10 yrs ago he just totally mellowed out. Some of that was probably that Kenny and others who he genuinely hated were gone, but it seems like now he just shows up, let's the chips fall where they may, and doesn't care if wlhe wins or loses.
He finished 3rd on War of the Worlds though, which was an incredible accomplishment. So I guess he still cares a little bit, but he's probably getting $100K or more just to get on a plane nowadays.
He also sucks at eliminations now, so if he goes in, He's likely done.

Maybe my odds on winners. Paula is the only real weak-ish link, but she can kill a final because she was a distance runner. She's a B+, the others are all A+. Ev, Evan, and Landon all are smart and top level athletes in the history of the show. The females would have to avoid eliminations though. Paula is not good in pressure situations. Politically they'd be pretty protected, too.

Not the smartest team overall and not the best politically. They could be picked on early, but their females are A+ physically. They could take out a lot of chicks and win a lot of daily challenges, too. If they get to a final, watch out. There's a ton of mental and physical toughness there.

Savvy as hell. Cara scares me, though. She is mentally or physically weaker than just about every other female. Brad is very good in finals. He was actually trying yo throw the final in Duel 2 and still smoked Evan until he juts layed down at the end. Since it's Wes, though that team is getting thrown in first unless they win.

Very high odds to win the whole thing. The Ninja could get pushed around in an Elim with these other chicks though. I also don't know how good Kam would be in a killer final. Never seen how she can run 20+ miles. That's a loaded team, but we've seen Joss get beaten by an OG before.
