Totally serious. It came out when I was about 16-17 and we all saw it. Thought it was LOL funny then. I watched it again about 10 years ago and realized how stupid it really was. Very predictable childish comedy.

"The sheriff is n........."

fricking unbelievable, huh?

By far the most overated comedy on this board.

Blazing Saddles

#6 on AFI's top comedies
3 Academy Award noms, 2 BAFTA noms
Best Original Comedy Screenplay winner from the Writers Guild
a 2006 selection by the Library of Congress as a film deemed "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant"
$119,500,000 on a 2,600,000 budget.

So in other words, its one of the most overrated comedies in history, not just this board. Don't set your sights so low next time...

They remade Lolita and it is the same premise.
But is it a whacky comedy or a disturbing tale of obsession that does not end well for anyone?

Plus, it was remade 15 years ago, and people's vaginas are ten times as sandy as they were back then.

But thanks for reminding me of Dominique Swain's arse. brb.

Yeah, I disagree with them. Do you have it in your top 6?

True, I just didnt want to hurt the feeling of my fellow posters who think that Alex Karras dressed up as Mongo is funny.

Hey Man, It made 119 Million. Some people think that shite's funny. Just not me.

BTW, I thought "Airplane" was funny when I first saw it too. Sorry, it isnt any more. How much did it make?

I guarantee we're within 10-15 years of remaking this film.

I was telling my 19 year old niece about it with her 3 roommates.....she told me three days later they all thought I was racist, even though I date a black woman

Guess the point of the film went way over their heads. Its making fun of racists the whole time.
