Those changes were inconsequential compared to the changes to Without Remorse.
What made it even worse was that book fans had been waiting for the movie for decades with rumors after rumors that it was being made.
Then we get that.
At least American Assassin stayed within half distance of the book for Mitch Rapp.

I still have no idea why they bought the rights to the book. They could have saved money and just released that POS movie under a different title.

The most pissed I’ve ever been when leaving a movie theatre was watching The Firm starring Tom Cruise. The book had an incredible ending with everyone chasing him across the gulf coast. The movie got lazy and had them charging the Firm with mail fraud due to billing issues. What a load of crap.

Shooter
The movie with Mark Wahlberg is a good one but Bob Lee Swagger was written by Stephen Hunter with actor Tommy Lee Jones in mind. Tall, rangy and spoke with a slow drawl like he was indeed from northwest Arkansas.

A Clockwork Orange. I don't how many have managed to trudge through that book - that certainly describes what I did. And maybe it wasn't the best idea to read the book after seeing the movie. Anyway, the basic theme is nailed, but they are very Very different stories details-wise.

Without Remorse is one of my favorite books.
Wish there was a faithful movie adaptation.

Jaws is my favorite movie of all time so when I was 14 I read the book. And I had to read Brody’s dick being described like a watermelon
Don’t forget Body’s wife fantasizing if she got in a car wreck with Hopper and realizing she wasn’t wearing panties and wondering if people would be able to tell how wet her pussy was when they came across her body
I was like 10. I was very confused
