How the West Was Won is right up there with MMMW.
I agree but I viewed it as a semi-documentary in style as opposed to a story.

This is true, but a lot of films fit in this catagory as well.

These are just the people I recognize from Mad Mad Mad Mad World. Many of the actors I didn't list had 70 to 100 credits on IMDB. Most have at least 1 Emmy nomination. Yes some on the list had small cameos, but that is what was so great about this movie. It was essentially all the comedians in Hollywood.
Spencer Tracy - 9 Oscar nominations 2 Wins.
Mickey Rooney - 4 Oscar nominations.
Peter Falk - Emmy Winner and 2 Oscar nominations
William Demarest - Oscar nomination.
Buster Keaton - Honorary Academy Award
Carl Reiner - 8 time Emmy Winner
Don Knotts - 5 time Emmy Winner
Milton Bearle - Emmy Winner
Sid Caesar - Emmy Winner
Phil Silvers - Emmy Winner
Jonathan Winters - Emmy Winner
Buddy Hackett
Ethel Merman
Terry Thomas
Edie Adams
Jim Bacchus
3 Stooges
Norman Fell
Leo Gorcey
Selma Diamond
Sterling Holloway
Charles Lane
Jimmy Durante
Jack Benny
Jerry Lewis

What I remember about that movie was how incredibly long it took for the intro credits to roll. Thought it would never start.
Also read how many of the big stars at that time were begging to have a bit part.

Can't believe anyone hasn't offered up "The Outsiders."
Patrick Swayze
Tom Cruise
Matt Dillon
C. Thomas Howell
Ralph Macchio
Rob Lowe
Emilio Estevez
Diane Lane
Leif Garrett
Sofia Coppola
Tom Waits
Gailard Sartain
Most of these guys were virtual unknowns, but they all hit it big within a year or two of this movie being released.

I think I may have found one that may compete with MMMMW. It doesn't have the star power of quite as many Oscar nominations, it is still pretty heavy in names.

All those crazies in "Cuckoos Nest" moved on to more roles, some were even quite popular: Danny Devito, Christopher Lloyd, Will Sampson, Brad Dourif.

Clarify. do you mean the movie with the most stars in it, or the movie that was cast the best with people actually playing a part and being the perfect person for that role.
