Saw Scarface on Netflix and thought about all the "Miami" set movies... And that city just adds great dynamic for a movie.

Might be the second best major American city for a movie, besides New York... For me it blows L.A. Out of the water.

2 incredible and very "Miami" scenes from 2 different eras:
Miami Vice Boat Ride

In The Air Tonight Ferrari

Caddyshack was shot in Miami and then the greater Broward County.

So that makes South Florida the winner all by itself.

Porky's

I don’t think it’s sneaky, I think it’s up there in the big 4...NYC, LA, Chicago, Miami. It’s a fantastic setting for sun, tits, and arse

Not a movie, but Dexter wouldn’t be Dexter without that setting.

Goldfinger? You sure that wasn't filmed in Kentucky?

Now ... Dr. No maybe, I dunno. But that was probably the Bahamas.

LA and Chicago seem like rather generic big city locales.

The Fugitive used the Chicago setting really well.

The only interesting thing about LA as a setting is the diversity of the geography. We have mountain ranges smack dab in the middle of the city and the multiple beach communities.

Aside from that, I agree New York is the best. Miami is debatable, depending on the storyline.

Chicago is pretty generic as a setting.

Chicago is only notable if there’s a scene involving Wrigley Field, like Ferris Buehler.
