Daredevil Season 2 drops March 25th, the same date that Batman vs. Superman is released.

That's funny.

I'm just excited to start the countdown to DD Season 2. I'm just not a huge Superman fan and not excited about BvS. I may start reading Max Landis' American Alien though to see if that gets me into Superman.

It sounds like a win for all involved.

If you see the film, you got superhero on the brain and you can come home to Daredevil which isn't going anywhere.

If you don't want to get in that opening weekend crowd, you got Daredevil to hold you over for a few days until you get out there.

This. Didn't see Star Wars on Opening Night, I doubt I'd see BvS on opening night. Sunday morning for the relaxing movie times.

Daredevil until then, but I like to do 2-3 episode bursts, not a complete binge.

Some movie/tv board guru should do the DD season thread in some kinda 1-3 episode breakdown.

Can't decide if I care.

I stopped at episode 6. Didn't finish the show until a couple weeks back. I enjoyed the back 6 better than the front 6.

I still think the show is a bit of a joke. He gets killed pretty much every episode yet bounces back like he has Wolverines healing powers. Well, without the healing. He just somehow has the ability to be a completely broken human being and he can still defeat a ninja.

Since they made his real powers almost nonexistent. They don't help him avoid 90% of the punches coming at him, so they should have just added super healing to his ability and then it would make a bit more sense.

I get that it is a super hero show but it is just ridiculous how much damage he takes and then walks it off. Rubs some dirt on it and heads back in for round 43.

Vincent D'Onofrio was top notch. The guy has UNHINGED nailed down. Good old Pooh Bear.

Not really sold on the rest of the cast.

I'll watch it, but I probably have more interest in Superman. I am interested in the Dark Knight Returns angle. They will probably botch it, but I have those books so I am interested in how the material was used more than seeing Daredevil get his arse kicked for the 300th time.

I like Daredevil, but it is flawed. Easily Fixable, but flawed.

Thats like saying the Areana league is trolling the NFL by having their championship game the same day as the super bowl

This. It's the Puppy Bowl making some cash by taking place during the Super Bowl hype.

Marvel puts their Netflix product out on a weekend when superhero and action fans will be hyped for a big film. They do it with a DC movie because Marvel's film division would throw a major fit if their Netflix arm tried to leach off of one of their weekend premieres.

Come on, you know what happened originally, this is DC's game to play, Marvel is just returning the favor in a way that honestly, won't impact DC at the box office one bit. Don't make it petty.

quote:

Marvel Studios and Warner Bros./DC Comics have been playing a serious game of chicken these last few months. While Marvel claimed the May 6, 2016 release date as their own all the way back in June 2013 (later announcing the date as being for Captain America 3), Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice decided to move to the exact same weekend this past March after being delayed nearly a year. We’ve spent the months since wondering which superhero blockbuster would finally end up moving, and today we have an answer.

Marvel had the date. DC tried to jump on and think they could beat Marvel's game (and let's be honest BvS probably outgrosses Civil War anyway), then they wimped out. Probably for the best.

No need to make it look like some big Marvel ploy.

I said I initially stopped at 6 then recently watched the remaining episodes and liked them better than the first 6. There was one I really hated in the final batch but my favorites are from the second half of the season.

I really don't love any of the cast so hopefully the new bad guy, Punisher and Elektra have more chemistry.

I never said that it was anything petty or nefarious. It's just good business sense on Marvel/Netflix's part.

I really don't think that this is Marvel trying to stick it to DC for trying to take their May date.

The rumor was false. Daredevil returns on March 18th, a full week before Batman V Superman's opening date.

The new trailer for Daredevil is out with actual date on it.

To me Superman will always be Dean Cain. Aside from that, I have never really been a big fan of Superman. I mean I still haven't seen Man of Steel. But I'm a huge Batman need, so I got to check it out.

Yes. They make comments from time to time about it...or so I seem to recall. Not a real discussion. Just offhand comment or two.

I was so into the comics before I saw them portrayed on TV or in movies... none of these specific guys are "Superman" or "Batman" to me. Hamill's Joker comes close though.

I did see The Rocketeer before reading the comics, so Billy Campbell is pretty ingrained in my brain as that character.
