Synopsis:

1) This whole episode was long on the subtle humor Mad Men is so good at.

2) Don the nice guy is not going to kill it like Don the a-hole. He'l miss out on some deals and slowly turn back into a dick.

3) The atmosphere jumped forward WAY more than 9 months. Don's apartment, smoking dope, 60's clothes. Not saying it's a bad thing.

4) Stan is good enough to keep around.

5) I don't miss Betty one bit. There, I said it.

6) No idea where they are going with the creepy Lane thing.

I'm still confused as to how SCDP was able to stay afloat after losing Lucky Strike which was over 70% of their billings.

Wasn't the last few episodes of season 4 focused on that particular storyline? Did I miss something or did they just not address it?

I think it'll take getting used to but the uncertainty about it as a viewer probably captures a sliver of how it felt for them at that point of time.

An awful lot of awkwardness between characters that I'm anxious to see explained.

Rewatching now. Peggy laments not getting Megan a wedding gift. Don's married.

Yeah, Pete's assistant says "Mr. and Mrs. Draper are here" early in the episode.

Good enough episode, some thoughts...

I'm not sure that I like Don's strategy of telling women about Dick Whitman and then pissing them off. (see: Dr. Miller last season as well). Likely to catch up with him.

I'm with the others that are wondering about how SCDP stayed afloat for a year or however long it has been. I honestly thought that the anti-smoking campaign was what was going to save them due to Don's letter, but that seems to have not been a major thing (unless I missed something). I know they laid off a lot of people, but I was under the impression that that was only going to save them for a few months.

A lot of funny moments... some stuff you probably wouldn't notice unless you are familiar with the series. Pete looking oddly at Peggy when she walked in with the baby was good stuff, even though that other kid is probably four now.

I definitely see the seeds of a great season in this episode. Hope they take it somewhere.

Meagan is a former prostitute. The lane pryce story line will collide with her past. Jist a guess. She had a hooker thing going tonight.

If nothing else, Megan has some shady shite going on from her own past that's gonna present an issue for Don.

Still think that line about her being a "good actress" goes a bit deeper than her resume.
