Was wondering what would happen with Lane's 10-12%. I guess that it goes to his wife, which the other partners will buy back.

With the company life insurance, SCDP are the beneficiaries. Then they use that money to buy out Lane's stake in the company. This does two things: 1) they don't have to make business decisions with his wife holding a voting interest and 2) it gives his family immediate liquidity from his "asset".

You'll see.

If someone said Lane just found out he had to spend a long weekend alone with Betty - you'd understand why his letter was boilerplate...no explanation needed.

I now see why Weiner made Joan a partner - if Peggy was going to leave - they needed more Joan in the picture.

I honestly didn't know what to think of Lane - he always seemed so English proper on the surface yet could be the most crude underneath...he was a fish out water in so many ways.

She sucks and makes me want to run from marriage.

Wouldn't Lane's resignation forfeit his stake in the company?

This and ....

What do we take away from Lane's arch on Mad Men. Are we even supposed to take anything away?

I wonder how well the company is actually doing once the partners look into the books.

Wouldn't it also mean that they couldn't collect on the life insurance? If he even had it long enough for the suicide clause to kick in.

I would imagine the partnership goes to the family. Who knows back then though and what was written into the partnership contract. Most likely the others would have to buy out his shares.

I wonder if Don will reveal to anyone about what Lane did? Now that Lane is dead, he doesn't really have proof that Lane forged that check.

It may come up if Cooper tries to press him on anything further.

On the the other topic, Glen is definitely creeping on Megan now. I doubt she takes as kindly to it as Betty did.

This kind of got lost in the Lane stuff, the cvnt Betty actually had a nice, motherly moment with Sally there at the end. Of course that was a moment after she told Megan that Sally "just needed her real mother."

With as quiet as the Betty storyline has been this year, I bet they ramp it up next year. Her and Henry hardly look very happy.

I could see her moving into the city. Also anyone check the reference that Sally wants Don to leave Megan?

They better keep Betty fat next season, but it looks like they won't.
