It was reminiscent of THE PHANTOM MENACE.
This was exacting what I was thinking, since Across the Sea is the most disappointing thing since my son. I mean how much more could you possibly frick up the entire backstory to LOST. And while my son eventually hanged himself in a gas station bathroom, the problem with this piece of crap is it will be around forever.

It seemed as though the wine was what made you become protector of the island (ceremonial). MIB destroyed the wine bottle in Ab Aeterno. I wonder if there is any left for the next protector?
i'm thinking maybe that's too literal (that the wine actually has that kind of power) i think it's just a symbol or a mean of transference.
whoa am i talking about Lost or catholic transubstatiation???

How long do skeletons remain intact out in the open air? Wouldn't they have turned to dust in 2,000 years

Yes, haters and trolls have been coming in here when they heard how bad this episode is and saying they are glad they dropped out. The weeks before had been incredible, and this episode should have been aired a few weeks earlier.

you know they never explained how Jacob can get off the island to "touch" everybody, or did i miss something?

Let's not bring science into this, man.
Speaking of which....does anyone else remember how the creators of LOST said at the beginning that everything would be based on science and/or pseudo-science?? So how does this "light" that is the heart of the island factor in?

Uh....I'm speechless and I hope you are joking or referencing something I've never heard of

i don't understand. jack saw his dad. ben saw his mom. i'm sure there are other examples that escape me now.
That was MIB though, not either of their actual parents.

Perhaps Jacob himself went back and finished building teh Donkey Wheel and uses it to leave the island from time to time. I have no idea as so much of this patchwork just doesn't stitch together

i figured that was the wheel that moved the island?

yeah it moved the island but it spit out the person who turned it to Tunisia

referencing the redlettermedia phantom menace review.

Star Wars: The Phantom Menace was the most disappointing thing since my son. And while my son eventually hanged himself in the bathroom of a gas station, the unfortunate reality of the Star Wars prequels is that they'll be around forever.

Someone brought up The Sopranos earlier. I just finished watching that entire series and I never once felt ripped off, betrayed, or lied to by the creative team. I've felt like that for pretty much all of season 6 of LOST.
The writers pissed me off last night, but I don't see how they've lied to us, aside from MIB's connection with the original civilization on the Island.
I'm just going to treat this episode like I treat the Star Wars prequel trilogy and the Matrix sequels: they don't exist. I'm just going to make up my own much better backstory and pretend thats what actually happened.

oh shite, i forgot about that frick this show. There mom saying answering question would just lead to more questions, was so cheap. Why are they introducing new characters with 2 episodes left? Do TV writers just try to piss me off?

I think most of the speculation I read in this thread about last night's episode was more intriguing and rational than what we actually saw.
