Some people just get their rocks off by being miserable I guess.
Why continuously bitch and moan about something if it's not that enjoyable. During all of Kenobi I refused to read this page, not for spoilers but for the constant negativity.
I personally wouldn't even want to discuss a show I don't plan on watching or have ill feelings towards. Seems like a waste of my time....but whatever floats their boat.
With all that being said, I'm excited to watch the Rings of Power. Hopefully the trolls will go back to their caves and let the adults have a discussion.

I went ahead and created a thread just for Episode 1 and 2 discussion after viewing. Hopefully it helps.
Anyone who went ahead and saw it in theaters is welcome to go ahead and post. Looks like first two will drop tonight on Amazon at 9:00 pm EST.

I wonder if the betting board can give us an O/U post count until it turns right back into something mirroring this thread.
My money is on page 1. Won't take long.

Well hopefully folks can ignore the trolls and keep it to discussion of the content of the show itself. That's about all you can do at this point.

but it's worth noting that people on that series have basically stated that the WoT suffered greatly cause all the money and talent was being funneled to LOTR and WoT became a red headed stepchild for Amazon essentially.
That sounds like a similar excuse for why The Expanse was cut short.

There is no way this is true. They didn't make such major changes to the WOT story because Rings of Power got the money. If the only issue with WOT was visuals that would be one thing but that wasn't the issue. The issue was the unnecessary changes to the source material.
Yes.
Wheel of Time has excellent and finished source material, and you can easily cut those books down to a 7 season run.
Amazon was more interested in butchering it with forced diversity and altering storyline so badly that it destroyed characters.

The article I saw was less about visuals and just the overall talent on the show
The cast was actually pretty decent, aside from the racial makeup being so fricky.

Fixed it.

There is a LOT of filler in those books. 70-80 hour long episodes could cover a lot.

I kinda watched the first episode last night. The ending with the shooting star man hobbit - did I miss something? Or is it explained in the second episode?

Sorry, my point was that half of the series is filler, and that much of the non-filler is actively bad.

Looks like Amazon is trying to take care of audience reviews:

Is ‘The Rings of Power’ Getting Review Bombed? Amazon Suspends Ratings

A day after the first two episodes of Amazon’s billion-dollar baby debuted on Prime Video, the show’s average audience score on Rotten Tomatoes is a “rotten” 37 percent, and reviews on Amazon have been outright suspended.

Go look at what they’re saying in the reviews they are absolutely getting review bombed.
