Yeah. Why not? We hadn't seen the character in 30 years. It's completely reasonable that he would have changed in that time, especially considering the changes in the short amount of time we did see him. The idea wasn't the problem. Some of the execution was the problem.

What did you want to see happen? Empire Part II?
Blame what on him? I think he did a fantastic job, and I don't dislike the direction they went with his character. I hated the lightsaber toss, was weirded out by the milking scene, and wasn't a fan of the Force projection nonsense. Other than that, no major complaints.

I believe your dumbass is misconstruing "changing the character" with people wanting him to be the happy go lucky kid that was in the first 3. Of cousre he will change. But the action of him throwing over his fathers saber, the item that changed his course of life is what everyone is bitching about to what "changed his character".
He could have dropped it in fear, he could have embarrassed it, he could have rejected the gift.... He literally could have done anything else with it and it would have been better than him throwing it over his shoulder. How do you not understand that?
