This is the bigger problem for me than this

McFarlane's live action stuff is terrible.

You realize this is Frank Drebin right?

He was always just the monotone, straight man that shite happened to. Even his antics were serious and straight, like what he was doing was perfectly normal.

I actually think it could be incredible. It's not like he's writing a skit himself, if the script is worth a shite and plays to his famous voice and demeanor it might be a little great

Yeah, sure

There is an inherent goofiness to Leslie Nielsen. That doesn’t exist with Liam Neeson. Frank Drebin is part straight lace sure, but there is obviously much much more to the role. I just don’t see it working.

I mean he won't live up to Nielson by any means, but like i said I'm less concerned about Neeson than I am about McFarland heading the project.

Nielsen getting his career-altering Airplane role after a career of dramatic parts.

He was also good in "Dracula, Dead And Loving It", a Mel Brooks film where Mel plays Van Helsing and Nielson plays a bumbling Count Dracula.

It borrows scenes from several Dracula movies and camps them up to the max, with great results.
