Neither was John Carpenter when he made Halloween. Not saying he’s Carpenter obviously but you must start somewhere. That’s beside the point however as the producers for the flick chose to do so to distinguish this film from the Brendan Fraser film that’s about to come out.

yep, coming out in 2027. so down the line they didn't want folks to be confused. Also, they really should have called this flick Evil Dead Cairo: Curse of the Wet Mummy

Also, I loved Fraser in the Mummy movies as the swashbuckling archeologist type. I thought that he would have been an excellent replacement for Harrison Ford in the Indiana Jones movies, but I guess not.

I agree. Those movies are a lot of fun. Very excited they are doing a new one. In the meantime, go to Universal Studios and ride the Mummy ride.

just watched this one - went in with low expectations and knowing it's not traditional mummy movie and it was better than I expected but one viewing is enough for me - the gore didn't bother me, just don't need to re-watch it

James wan, Sam rami, and this dude must collaborate a lot when they make their movies. Havnt looked into it but wouldn’t be surprised if they had influence in the latest pet semetary movies. The blood lines one
