I would love to see this made. read about Staley's life and it could actually be made into a good film LINK.

His last days were horrific. He was dead for over 2 weeks before anyone even knew he had died.

I think Ben Foster would be ideal to play Staley.

The 1st pic is Staley. The one under is Foster.

Foster is an underrated actor and also plays the guitar and sings. Make this happen hollywood!

Any other ideas who could be cast as Staley? Who would you like to see direct it?

I wouldn't mind seeing Stone do it. I loved The Doors.

The article also stated that the 6'1" Staley weighed just 86 pounds when his body was discovered. The autopsy report later concluded that Staley had died after injecting a mixture of heroin and cocaine known as a "speedball".

86 pounds

have any of you listened to Alice in Chains' new album? William DuVall shockingly sounds identical to Staley. It's amazing.

Know his whole life did a huge paper on him in my Psychology class. His last days were terrible. Great story though would go see that movie

Would rather Behind the Music on VH1 finally do a story on them instead of butchering a fictional film. VH1 is slacking with their artists as of late.

definitely. Like someone else said, even a well done documentary would be good.

Not sure about Stone, some of his stuff is great. Some is off the charts weird.

That actor you posted a pic of definitely looks right for the part.

I don't think Staley has the mystique of Morrison to even remotely interest Stone in doing this.

Staley is the icon of a younger generation than Stone. I'm not even sure if he knows who the guy is. The band doesn't hold the legendary mystique of the Doors either.

Yeah he does but the only thing is Foster is 5'8"..Staley was 6"1". I guess 5'8" Joaquin Phoenix pulled off a 6"2" Johnny Cash pretty well though so it could work.

It's really hard to determine height on the big screen. Weight and age are easy to pin point, but not height.

I thought VH1 already did a Behind the Music on AIC already? I know they did one on Sublime that was good.

it is a great album but I don't think he sounds identical to Staley.

Also, I think Foster is a good pick for Staley. Like others said, I don't think Stone would be interested. Who directed "Walk the Line"? He might do well.
