This seems like an interesting movie.

Somehow they’ve found a way to turn a murder mystery into a comedy. I would have thought that was impossible.

Scooby Doo rarely if ever involves murder. It usually involves somebody running around in a costume to scare people and achieve some kind of monetary gain.

OK go watch watch Bob Hope's The Cat and The Canary, Ghost Breakers, Where There's Life, etc... Or a bunch of Abbott and Costello or Bowery Boys movies... Or the classic Get Smart episode "Hoo Done It?" (A spoof of Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None).

The '60s TV series Burke's Law w/ Gene Barry was a lighthearted mystery show about a homicide detective. My favorite episode, "Who Killed Supersleuth?" was later ripped off by Neil Simon as Murder by Death.

Not even a little bit true. It's only impossible to avoid the politics if you are actively looking for them and for a reason to be butthurt.
