It’s only February but Angel was probably interview of the year. The way his mind worked was amazing don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like it. Just naturally funny and falling into jokes with ease.
I’m puzzled. We might never see him again. If we do, it won’t be as funny. But I loved him. I would let him have a room at my house. My wife would hate me for it, and ultimately I will have to kick him out. But whatever happens, my friends will beg for more stories.
He might be the Honey Badger of comedy. We cannot imagine what he’s going to do. Then he does something we did not anticipate and changes the game. He won’t win the Heisman, but when he’s on the field, we’re watching him, not the QB.

Allegedly
But seriously, he was great... He is a well known comic in the NYC scene, and made himself an absolute legend with that interview... I can't wait to see more
ETA: Dedrick jumping into the improvised greyhound song was awesome, and he had a really good set as well... Martin Phillips roasting Bert was a nice touch to end the show
But I have to say, Angel stole the show

Mom’s got a butterfly tramp-stamp with matching PT cruiser.
Seems like a bit you should lead with.
A trend of people not doing their best material in their minute and tony senses it and pries it out of them.

I have mixed feelings about people working out new material... i applaud people taking shots and reaching beyond their safety net with a tough audience.... but i also think if you're going up in front of a tough crowd and 5 million people, you should have your shite worked out
Also, Tone has done this so many times with so many people, he knows what's what

Angel reminds me of a young Dave Chappelle for some reason.

He's pretty quick. I liked him.

I don’t understand how people don’t do their absolute best minute. It’s insane to treat Kill Tony like any other open mic. It’s the largest opportunity of your life, do your best minute.

Guess is that some of these people are trying so hard they lose sight of the ball.
Doing open mics over and over at some shite hole and they somehow convince themselves that their best stuff isn't funny.
Some kind of imposter syndrome.

I think it's more that they are really focused on trying new material that they think is funny and make it work, and like you said, have lost sight of the ball.

Bert Kreischer and Rick Ingraham tonight. I don't know much about Rick but he looks familiar.
I've seen Rick at least a half dozen times at the comedy store, IMO he's one of the most underrated comedians in the game. I'm not a huge crowd work guy but the direction he takes with it is alot of fun

Except this was one of the rare times where they actually did have a good, polished joke when he has them go again. They usually still suck.

Angel was funny, but I am not as sold on him as others. He may kill again in the future and prove me wrong, I hope he does. I think Tony jumped the gun on the golden ticket.

Same. There's a simple solution. Just give the guy a free pass or whatever to use whenever he wants to come back on the show, but it's just for one appearance. Not sure why this obvious solution isn't done more. He's done it in the past with the Hispanic trucker cowboy guy.

Yeah I think he has jumped the gun on several
Guess he can always make the stipulation that if you start repeatedly bombing then he can pull the plug
Which is what I assume happened to Heath or Heath made that decision on his own after bombing repeatedly
I also have to remember that some of these cats may not want to burn material every single week that they could use elsewhere

Bert Kreischer
Kind of OT but Soder had Bert on his podcast this week and it is pretty good with them 2 telling stories
The comments were calling Soder the Bert Whisperer

Bert has been so much more pleasant to listen to since he's had to stop drinking.

Just now read about his health as I had not been keeping up with him in a long time

Guests tonight are Greg Fitzsimmons, Dr Phil, Sal Vulcano. 3 solid guests so this should be a good one.
