Same, I come from a large family and when I was a kid my younger uncles were always watching it at my house or my grandparents house so it was generationally passed on. When my first son was 4-5 he’d watch my DVDs and fell in love with it. Again, generationally passed on. My youngest, same thing except on the way home from TLJ he started talking about Leia flying through space and all the other dumb shite in that movie. He was 8, for a kid that age to be that critical shocked me. His interest went elsewhere, the link broke. It’s anecdotal but I’d bet there are a ton of OT fans our age who’ve had something like this happen.

“Put a black lesbian in it” was her most used phrase while on the job

I had a hard enough time at 8 with the Ewoks, but thankfully it wasn't enough to turn me off of Star Wars. I can't imagine having to suffer through Episodes VIII & IX as a kid at that age.

Yeah, she pushed people past hating it to just not caring. If people hate it they're still passionate and you can still get them with a good product. Once they're checked out that's a tougher sell.

If you'd told 1983 me that there would be a dozen SW movies but the two most recent in the Skywalker saga I'd only have seen once each on opening night, multiple TV series - some of which I still haven't and likely won't see - and missed the latest theatrical release entirely, I'd never have believed you.

So she takes the franchise to all time lows under her watch with all the woke BS and is a bit relieved to be stepping down. That's like being given the worlds greatest recipe for a pizza , making changes to it and then burning the original recipe. Only to be relieved once you step down leaving everyone stuck with your bad pizza to live with.

I don't pay enough attention to know who her replacement is and I'm sure he/she is already on the job and fricking things up faster than light, but the only way they could get me (and probably 75% of the others on this board at the very least) back engaged would be to hold an introductory press conference and lead off with, "Ok, well, none of that happened." I'd even give up Rogue One, which I really like, to destroy TLJ, which is the worst thing ever to be.
