I think the biggest immersion breaker for me is the fact that 10ish years after the war people would just forget that the Nazi's were true evil and comply.

That’s actually the part of the show that seems most realistic. People would more than likely comply after some time. If the nazis kept the power on, shelves stocked, schools open etc it’s not surprising people would look past their other issues.

I’m in the middle of season 2 as well. I’m having a hard time grasping that this is what it’d be like had Germany won the war. Constant “heil Hitler!” and “zeig heil”’s annoy me. I grasp it’s a parallel universes but I still don’t know where it’s going or what the point is here. What are they trying to accomplish when they can’t even watch the films?

Also, Joe Smith was an American and in the US army and it’s hard for me to accept that anyone would just forget about their American past and ways and live the way he does.

I’m also one of those guys, sorry.

I don’t even know why I’m still watching. It has its decent parts. I guess I’m committed. Frank annoys the piss out of me.

A key point of the show is that people will looks past a lot of things for the sake of normalcy.

That’s what I thought atleast.

There's more to Obergruppenfuhrer's back story that I think we'll get to later. There's been teasers here and there.
